Oh, that's cool ! :thumb: I am glad to know that you already touched Alaska's soil. LOL It's nice to remma. :)

CyberRed, hehe, that's right, I even remember the salmon berries(for those who don't know, they look just like red raspberries except that they are orange in color and not as sweet as red raspberries)that grow wild all over. I ESPECIALLY remember taking my bro-in-law's fishing boat out over a half day to a remote island(there are millions of islands in southeastern AK). We stayed in a log cabin(no one else around...island maybe half mile across or smaller) out in the middle of no where and guess what else!?? On this remote island in the ocean, there was a fresh water lake!! I watched otter wash their food in a stream from the lake.....where the fresh water and the ocean met and a couple of black bears. The bears have swum from island to island for hundreds of years.....truly amazing!

Oh, yes they are truly amazin' ! It's a part of reason why I live in Alaska... just BEFORE I become feeble or absent-minded old lady. LOL I've seen fishermen who live in their boats at the harbor. They sell all kind of fishes (Sockeye, King Salmon, Salmon and name a few) and of course, halibut (my favorite one... lol). And, yes you are right about the berries all over the places (Juneau has them). Ummm... I will insert a pix of where I live way, way L A T E R ! Of course, without tellin' a name of the town! Ha ha ~

I really wish that you and your family are still stayin' in Alaska, so this way it would be so GRAND to meet you and your family in a small world if, we happen to know our screen names thru this AD !! (Shoot!)
