What are you thinking about? Part VIII

LOL! Made me smile, WDYS!.. you and me both, as far as Trump!

I wonder who was using the phone number for my cell phone before I got it , b/c I been getting texts from someone I don't know and one text was for pills for men to be able to have sex . :eek3: I told the person they have the wrong number and to stop sending me text . The guy at the store told me to do this to stop the texts.
I hope it works if not I want a new phone number. Has anyone else gotten texts from people they don't know ?

Yes, it happens when you get a new number ... It 'recycles' to someone else.

Anyone who change their cell phone number, their old one goes to someone else.

So I guess getting a new number would not help and this is my first cell phone and I am getting spam on it . :ty:

There is more demand of numbers than there are "fresh" numbers so it is normal to get a used one and the resulting calls that are not for you.

I would never give my text number away to any possible spam/telemarketers. The only people who have my phone # are family and friends and work.

You don't have to give it to them. They just try numbers at random not knowing who the person receiving it will be. Also, some of what you get can be the result of what the person that had your number before you did.

Yep, I've done that. I do not think I have ever gotten a spam text or telemarketer call in my whole life. I have had my phone number for about 10 years or so.

Based on your reply you seem to have gotten your number before demand was so very high and had a better chance of getting an unused number. I have read in the number of places that the demand these days is so high that it is very rare to get a number that someone else didn't have previously!

Add your cell/landline number to the National Do Not Call Registry. This will give you protection from telemarketers/spammers and others.

Thank you! I forget to do that with my cell phone I did with my landline phone but I still get unwanted calls , it not as bad but once the election get closer
I think a lot of us will be getting unwanted calls. I been so worried about my granddaughter.

I have the same cell phone number since I had my first cell phone (Sidekick I).

I haven't gotten anymore weird texts , I don't want to when I am texting my daughter about my sick granddaughter . I got one while was driving and it was the damn
spam text ! I pulled over for nothing .

I have never gotten a spam text on my 8yr old fone #er. Here is a funny thing for you all: I do not have my cell number memorized!

I do not find anything funny or weird about not having that number memorized. It seems so much more natural that we have numbers that we call memorized because we are having to enter them one way or another over and over again. Unless we are having to give out our own number over and over again we don't do that with our own.

You made sense. With all the passwords, pin numbers and more needed to be stored in your brain, the fone number takes the back burner. Its a good feeling to know that I am not alone. Anyone else, not have their phone #er memorized?

I give out my # often enough (especially while job hunting) that I have it memorized. What I don't have memorized is everyone else's #'s because they're all on speed dial.

I don't have my cell phone # memorizes either , using speed dial made it harder to memorizes people phone # . You only need to push one key to made a call now .
