VA never did come through with a terp though... think it is time to humbug the patient advocate before anymore appointments.

It's hard to say since we don't know what you mean by trying harder to fit in. Maybe you're trying too hard to be something that you're not comfortable with.

Even if you get a special someone, it's not good to fully depend on one person to fulfill all your emotional needs. That's a lot of pressure to put on someone, and can scare a person off.

It's a two-way street. Do you understand and give others what they want? That might answer your question.

I've gotta agree with this unfortunately. I have a FB acquaintance (female and DB) who keeps saying the same thing as above (and even has criteria...sort of can understand why but yeesh). It's putting too much pressure on yourself and on others.

I have the same problem... I'm not the best socially in either Deaf or Hearing spaces but I've gotten to the point of... "it is what it is"...I'm not actively or focusing solely on getting that "special someone" anymore (would be nice).. partly due to past personal experiences and partly age. Trying to force something could very well backfire.

I hope you do find a niche somewhere. I'm still looking for my 'forever' home (My top wish is still Seattle but that may never happen lol) but I'm happy with who I am and I have a few close friends both Deaf and Hearing. You ain't alone.
 
I am thinking about Pizza Hut Stuffed Cheese crust meat lover (bacon, ham, sausage, pepperoni, meatball) with balsamic dressing on top. Yummy!

^Almost 80 today. That's unheard of in May. Hit it in April multiple times as well. Call Trump. :D
 
I didn't know Mt St Helens - I remember all the news on it in the 80's. I was a little kid and it seemed so monstrous to me. Hope for everyone's safety!
Thinking about seeing my folks later for Mother's Day. I got my mom and card and a book and my husband and I are going over to spend some time with them.
