Good to hear...Education and job training are 2 points I believe in. ASL is their 1st language, but English isn't being taught well enough so they can communicate with clarity to Hearing people.
Back when I was in school, they had workshops. That's how I got my job in Newspaper Publishing...Training is so important....

Am thinking about DGM...Deaf Grass Movement...my FB pages has been flooded with pixs of the protests in each State....Haven't seen anything here on AD about it ????..Any opinions of this movement?

One of my acquaintances on FB has posted a bunch of pics for different states. Another (In Alabama) participated in that state's DGM- if I have it right he had a hand in organizing too. I haven't seen any from my state or from from bigger states like WA or CA. The ones I can remember off hand are AL, MA, CO...would have to go look at her profile to see what other states... I think WV too.

When DGM first started there was a thread somewhere on AD about it... and how poorly it was planned- I think the one in DC last year or year before and the guy who was trying to run it.

I saw a woman trying to open her car trunk today and she was using her cell phone to get it open to no luck . She had grocery to put in it the trunk and
spend about 5 minutes trying get her trunk open instead of putting her food in the back seat . I guess cars are getting smarter but some drivers aren't . This is the second time I seen this happ
I'm very sorry. I hope she gets better soon.

:ty: Reba & Rio, my daughter took her to ER and they were there for about 5 hours , my granddaughter was dehydration from vomiting so much. A stomach virus is going
around , I hope her school will get clean before this spread ,they always wait until half the school get sick before disinfection the rooms . She is home from school today , this had a be a nasty bug that going around.

We had one in Minnesota this week at the state capitol. A lot of people went.

Wondering why DeafDucky doesn't live here

http://www.townofduck.com/

I want to live there!!! We passed through that town on the way to where we stayed last summer in the Outer Banks. I wanted to get out of the car and try to swipe one of the banners they have on the main street. My father was not amused.

The town of Harleyville, SC, had that same problem with bikers. Their signs kept disappearing.

Do either or both of these towns have their banners for sale? They might be able to make quite a bit off of the sales.

No idea on the Duck one but I am sure they have MANY kinds of merchandise related to their town. Two shirts I bought (or really all three probably...) has the names of several of the Outer Banks towns on the back. in a circle. (hard to describe)

Post a pic of one with you modeling it. ;)

I'm always trying 2-3x as hard as others to fit in the simplest social interaction at a Deaf event. That goes for pretty any Deaf events. This is ridiculous. If I had that special someone, I wouldn't have to worry about whether I fit in. I would just be myself. Why can't anyone understand this and give me what I want?
