You don't but yet you bring up morality when talking about STDs. It's a PUBLIC HEALTH issue, not a MORALITY issue!
Behavior influences public health. Morality influences behavior.

Better start practicing that in South Carolina as it is the top 3 states with the highest STD in Gonorhhea and Chylmidia! :P

Yeah and they are known as "conservatives."

Here is a link showing syphilis, gonnorhea, and chylamidia and that the top 3 states in each category are conservative, Republican, God-fearing states!

So much for morality argument!
It proves that people are not behaving in a moral way. Immorality isn't a political party; I never said that it was.

So behaving in a moral way means supporting war and the killing of innocents (especially Israel)? Being moral means withholding information on sex from teenagers?

If that's your idea of being moral, then I'd rather drink bleach than be moral.

I don't tell you how to behave, and you don't need to tell me how to behave, thank you.

*shaking head* at this thread =/

Reba, don't waste your time. You know how anti-virginity liberals are don't value mortality cos they think it is too old fashion, espeically hetersexal marriages. So they want to throw a new fashion is amortality. =/

So don't worry about their thoughts of you :P

My state isn't in the top 3 for having one of the highest STD rate. :giggle:

And we have comprehensive sex ed classes.

None of this..... "You'll BURN in hell for all eternity if you lust after that woman." :giggle:

B.S.

We're moral.

The difference between you and us is this: We're realistic--you're not.

That can scare someone into rebellion!

Bad joke..

Yeah...... I remember this one pastor in Georgia (Savannah) that was on a roll with his brimstrone-fiery speeches about morality and then got busted two days later for a bounced check to a local prostitute.

Whatever's happening in my state has nothing to do with how I live.

You brought that up, not me.

No but it is a reflection off of your morals and standards. :)

Apparently abstinence programs aren't working in South Carolina especially down in the Low Country.

Anti-virginity liberals?

Seriously, where do you people come up with this crap?

Sex is a natural human need....sorry, we behave like the animals we are.

I'm going to try to see this from the "religious conservative" view.

"Alright, so if a person practices abstinence, then s/he is rewarded with STD free life. If a person sleeps around and has pre-marital sex, s/he is more likely to get a STD. Well that is just too bad. S/he plays with fire, s/he will get burned. Why should we waste resources trying to educate the people to do something that they shouldn't be doing?! It's obvious that they shouldn't be doing it because STD is the punishment! I refuse to spend my tax dollars promoting sex and birth control for those who do wrong. They deserve to get what's coming to them."

Sound about right? To me, that's perfectly fine if you think that. However you are forgetting one thing. We ARE wasting tax dollars ANYWAY!!! You cannot deny that abstinence only programs ARE NOT WORKING. Its fine if you dont believe in safe sex education, but if you're gonna blow money away on sex related issues, why the hell are we doing it for abstinence? What is there to learn about abstinence????

How do the actions of other people reflect off my morals and standards? I don't control other people.

I'm curious why you think that is something to smile about?

It takes more than programs to change people.

Do you have proof of cause and effect?

Sex is a natural human need....sorry, we behave like the animals we are.
But we aren't animals--we can make conscious decisions about our behaviors instead of following animal instincts.

Yes, sexual desire is a wonderful God-given part of our being but there are times for restraint. Just like an appetite for food, which is necessary for our lives, there are limitations for our good health.

No.

Can I see a link to that list you're referencing? I want to see where my state ranks.

Vermont didn't make the list because they have a lower rate of STDS.

I'm :) because this is a fun debate of going back and forth!

We came from monkeys......afterall the one specie that is dangerous to the human race are the humans themselves.
