Sick again

OB, we're all waiting with you! I felt like I was sitting near the edge of my seat reading your updates. I truly hope this is something your doctor is able to resolve as soon as possible.

Me too! That's one of my concerns. I hope they can do something, but I also hope it doesn't take a long time. I was down for nearly a year last year (if you recall?). I don't want this to take that long. Sad thing is, it probably will.

*sigh*

Incidently, I'm expecting to find out that I have osteo-necrosis. That is, my hip bone has lost it's blood supply and is dying. The news for ME will be the extent of the loss of blood supply, and resulting bone death. If the necrosis extends into my pelvis, then I'm in real trouble.... Is why I'm so nervous...

sorry to hear about your illness. I suggest you to CLEANSE your body inside such as get rid of toxic and take pure vitmans.. drink lots of water! and see if it helps.. EVerytime I get sick I ALWAYS detoxic my body to get rid of all germs and everything (not 100% but most) then I dont get sick for like a year or 2 yers.. it helps a lot

 That sounds serious. You're definely in my thoughts. :Ohno: Keep us updated.

Update

I have a major update.

First, I found a second sore last night. This one is on my groin. It's about the same size as the one on the back of my leg. No word on what's causing this to happen. But, I had the MRI today. The bone is NOT losing it's blood supply like we originally thought. Therefore, I CAN have surgery!!! I have an appt with the Dr Oct 31st. Then, I'm tentatively scheduled for surgery Nov 16th.

Since the Dr CAN'T do another muscle flap, he plans to go into the one he did in April, open it up, and clean out what's inside. Hopefully, once he gets in there, he'll be able to see what is causing the sores. As of right now, we still don't know.

But, all in all, I'm relieved. I was hoping this would be the outcome. I still am not so sure my bones aren't migrating and causing this....But, we know nothing's infected and the blood supply is intact.

So, on to surgery.... Will keep updating...

OB!

HUGZ from me big time, I hope you feel much much better after the surgery, meantime, Have you do alternative sitting positions to avoid the sores ?

Im sorry that I asked, You might have done that numbers time :) It was just came into my mind when I read this, but Im pretty sure I didn't catch up the WHOLE pages to pages. but I do try to read from beginning to end.. sometime I may miss in middle of somewhere pages :) hehe..

your a great person in this forum, according to another member, your a great friend to her :)

So, Hugz, Hope things will be much easier in next few months, I know it's long wait till November, I do know the feeling altho you and I have different forms of disbilities but I do know the "waiting period" is PITA!!!!!! Im tired of it too. I have to wait till HALLOWEEN day to get my first Injections (i believe I get my first injection that day)

Waiting sucks!

As for questions, I don't mind answering them. On the sitting positions, lets just say BTDT. I'm actually spending time IN BED now, and I still got the second sore. :eyeroll:

We really don't know what's going on, Wendy. As I said, I'm still not convinced there isn't something wonky going on with my bone structure. I DO have hip dysplasia ( hip joint is out of socket), and I'm wondering if the joint is moving around in there, possibly rubbing against tissues? It's all theory, but it better then "I dunno".

Good luck on your injections!

:)

I'm glad that you got some positive information today. :)

Interesting OB...

I dont know if you knew I used to work in a group home years ago for about year and half, I have works with many many clients who are disbilities with their *multiples Disbilities that includes always in chairs, or in walkers, or just a bed*

Two of the client in different apt but same residences area (they moved a year ago from what I heard in gossips in my old state), I remember they constantly getting sores in their butt, Legs, etc. but not like yours I believe but, I do remember the Nurse who's always oncall, this specific nurse that I like alot because she explained way much better than other "neglecting nurse" who doesnt care just because they are disbilities but this nurse is different and does "SHOW lots of her cares" in her career and in her patients.. Anyhow, back to the point, I remember she always "Recommend" change positions put a wrap towel, or a fluffy flat pillow or something use your imagaination, Under your butt, or between groins or Under knee etc to avoid a "bed sore" or Other kind of Sore.. LIKE i said, not like yours, but alternative thing may "always help, may not always help" *give a try* to give you another choice to try beside these vitamins, foods, milk (giggling).

but then again, we all are learning new things, Just like you are going to learn something new in future that it may popped up, Infact Im gonna do some researches online on the hip dysplasia I do know one client has whole body disility she's very stiff can't be moved at all, except for her neck/head

OB

Im also reading about osteo-NECROSIS as you mention in last page, it's interesting, I know very very few people know im very interesting to become nurse, but with my children taken over my life, and with my neck problem, there's no way I could go school for my career, unless I heal up in suddenly 100% better.. Hehe but.. as you can see Im always out and researches something.. Pssstt, my two sisters are Nurses. one is RN and travels around to people's home for their medical treatments, and hospices work too. Other nurse is LPN, she prefer work in Nursing home, (for who knows HOW LONG shes been working in Nursing home, Over 25 years she start out disorderly, then CNA, then now LPN..)

My mother in law, when My son was diagnosis with brain tumor on Halloween 2003, then After christmas, when His radiations was finally over, On April fool day 2004 she was PLANNED to go to Ireland with a groups from some friends at church, but she was complaining lots of pains in her hip, she decide to go doctor, and the doctor advice her not to go on trip, she went in a cat scan, turn out she has TUMOR in her hip, her first though came in her mind "My grandson!" He showed her that He went thru all surgery, Radiations, Chemo. She can do it if He could do it, so this was her 3rd tumor, (first 2 tumors were skins she had no radiations or chemo, just think the surgery would be good enuff.. FYI she was surgeon nurse!!!!!) Anyway.. So she went to have surgery, Radiation and Chemo, She s on Chemo few more treatments left.. but anyhow, She had her Hip Joint Replacement on First time, the first joint bend, They replaced with new Hip Joint again, Recently we found out, it got so bad, she didnt want to do surgery right before her daughter's wedding on sept 19th the same day of my 13 miles walk, My kids were Flower girl, ring boy.. soo I left so early AM to go for 13 miles walk so I can make in time for wedding I missed the church but i was at the reception with a sore Hip to feet LOL Anyway, According to that Weekend, Mum tells me that she was schedules for ANOTHER hip joint replacement. I dont know how she could Put up with that, but she is a very strong will woman that I ever met, and wonderful Mother!

I know it's "off topic" but I thought I let you know :)

hey that is great news to hear about that! Pray that dr will not find anything weird when he/she go in your area .. Of course I will pray for you and keep ya in my thoughts for the best outcome of your recovery from the sores. :)

I'm really glad that you don't have osteonecrosis but I hope the doctors find out what causing the problems for you soon! You're in my thoughts. :)

Unbelievable!

You'll aren't going to believe this one....

After I took my shower last night, my Mother came in to re-bandage my wounds. She packed and bandaged the first one. Then, she goes looking for the second, but she can't find it! She says to me..."S, I can't find your second wound." At this point, I'm thinking ..."Okay, Mom what have you been smoking?" lol

She says..." I can't FIND IT!" She gives my leg a good going over, and the second wound ISN'T THERE!!

We're thinking that the wound I saw two nights ago was the original wound, and that when I sat on my bench to shower, my weight distributed in such a way that it allowed me a better vantage point to see that wound.

Anyway, I'm ecstatic and relieved! This makes the wound closure very simple. I'll know more about surgery after I see the Dr on the 31st.

Will update then.

Take care, all....

DD
