Obamacare watch...Supreme Court Decision

If Congress kills the union contract, all of you will get no mails for days and days or weeks and weeks. That's not what Congress wants.

Oh really, I'm surprised about what are you saying, that seems risky to do it.

Obama said that Obamacare was not a tax. And Obama's/WH's lawyers argued in Court that it was a tax..…the Court agreed saying that the mandate is a tax and now the White House administration is saying that it is not a tax, again.

What idiocy.

It doesn't matters now since Obama accept US Supreme Court ruling.

If you have health insurance so you are not subject to tax, that's simple.

Nope....just rising premiums. Which could also loosely be considered a tax. Certainly a cost of the bill.

Oh, it is not idiocy at all. It is calculated and manipulative. Obama is counting on the idiocy of his base to overlook the hypocrisy. And it seems to be working. Just pawns.

I don't trust to all conservatives about what they say with Obamacare. ;)

There's no escaping it. It is a tax. The Supreme Court made it hclear that the mandate is a tax in order for Obamacare to be Constitutional while the Commerce clause isn't. Obama lied, plain and simple. This will be the mother of all tax increases.

Only in your mind, that it.

Yup I can't wait until 2015 if this thing goes into effect.

USPS will close some plants down (transfer employees to other plants) and reduce workforce including management by offering voluntarily early retirement (no lay-off due to union contract) to save money.
that would be illegal. USPS is awaiting from Congress for approval.

USPS will not fail. Nationally, it still delivers magazines to millions of subscribers. Millions of the customers mail parcels via USPS daily. Alot of them still pay their bills by mail because they don't trust internet or don't have internet. Political mails and so on.
it's not about USPS going to fail. it's mainly about paying for retirement benefits. I hope it doesn't fall on taxpayers' burden to pay for it.

None of your links/comments answer my question. The taxpayers pay USPS for what?

again..... Post #208. I can't really see how it does not answer your question. Did you fail SAT or something?

hence.... biting the hand that feeds you

I've also bitten the hand of my Mother over something I knew was really wrong.
Unlike you, I don't not give quarters to those doing wrong (as I've posted here many times on AD), I call them out. But just because I do doesn't mean I don't love them.

The military pension is changing too, when my father retired from Marines in 1993 after 20 years of military career so he got fattier pension, however for any service members who retire today will get less money than my father did.

I seriously doubt your statement, unless you are comparing inflation cost todays military retire get more that those of 20 years ago. Think logically.

and yet.... you're still accepting and receiving quarters from the government whom you are very critical of....

I would never accept a quarter from an organization that is not in agreement with my belief.

The riches, the Bernie Madoff!! That is a new one to me, I was not aware they are the government.

I'm telling you that you are misguided. The riches and Bernie Madoff are the ones who are "raiding" government pensions.

Yup, I think the congress has authority to kill the union contract whatever they want, especially if USPS seeking emergency assistance to deal with crisis.

Yup and the absentee ballots are done by USPS too.

Are you aware that the U.S. Constitution requires that there always be a USPS?
I don't think you do because you are not aware of the true history of USPS.
There is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that would prevent the closing and disbanding of the FBI, CIA, FCC, etc. because they are not Constitutionally required. But Congress would have to amend the Constitution in order to shut down USPS.

It won't because each and every USPS-CSRS employee has worked for and EARN their pension. The taxpayers will be paying for all the stupid mistakes that the Postal Rate Commission had made. Here is one for you...USPS is required to deliver to each and every legal address in the 50 states for the exactly same rate. Meanwhile USP, FedEx and others are not reworked to deliver to each and every legal address (i.e. they can pick and choose). Also they can charge whatever they think the market will allow. They can raise prices like the gas stations. But USPS is required to go through the PRC, which takes months to approve the request and by that time cost had gone up again. For the USPS employees having to put up with all this they really do earn every penny of salary.

details like that is of no concern to me.... as long as we taxpayers aren't going to pay for your retirement fund.
