Obamacare watch...Supreme Court Decision

No, it isn't socialist government and you have no idea about what socialist government means.

Let look at Steinhauer's quote.

That's federalist, not socialist.

Some socialist countries have decentralized government that put provinces (like state) to take control of government.

federalism: principle of shared power between national and state government

socialism: various political and economic theirs based on government ownership of all or most of means of production and distribution of gods, with control over aspects of social welfare and planning.

So, Foxrac, as I said, your post #338 to Steinbauer is very close to socialism.

BTW: I'm way older than you and have way much more life experience, especially about politic.

Are you sure about definition of federalism?

According to Merriam-Webster.

federalism
often capitalized : the distribution of power in an organization (as a government) between a central authority and the constituent units — compare centralism

Federalism - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

That's federalism, not socialism.

No, you don't have much political experience as me because you put too many wrong and bullshit information. You had a lot of misinformation about what socialist government looks. The age is just numbers so it doesn't matter.

Time for you to refrain from label me as socialist and I'm not socialist so get over it.

Finally, I DISAGREE with Steinhauer because I don't see our federal as overruled on people, both of Steinhauer and I have different opinion and thinking.

My first definition came from Random House

Here is my Webster:

federalism: a union of states under a control government, distinct from that of the separate states, who retains certain individual powers, under the central government.

My point being that the U. S. Government is being slowly changed to socialism.
That is not here yet but if the way we are going is allow to continue the USA will get there.
Just hope it ain't in my Granddaughter's life.

If you don't want federal to be in much power so you have to defederalize/decentralize the federal government.

For me, I don't see federal government as overstepped on people's live so don't put your anti-government word in my throat.

No, that's incorrect, however it is your opinion, though.

The way I understand taxes to work, is that a tax is used to pay for government spending. It is not defined as something one must pay if they do not purchase a product. To me, that is what a penalty is.

Also, if one chooses to not purchase a product, and therefore, refuses to pay the penalty, don't they go to a debtors prison under this new law?

In addition to the above questions, isn't that the exact same reason why there was an American Revolution to begin with?

It is this American Citizen's opinion that the Federal Government has over stepped their authority and are interfering in people's personal lives.

Refusal to Pay

The law prohibits the IRS from seeking to put anybody in jail or seizing their property for simple refusal to pay the tax. The law says specifically that taxpayers “shall not be subject to any criminal prosecution or penalty” for failure to pay, and also that the IRS cannot file a tax lien (a legal claim against such things as homes, cars, wages and bank accounts) or a “levy” (seizure of property or bank accounts).

The law says that the IRS will collect the tax “in the same manner as an assessable penalty under subchapter B of chapter 68” of the tax code. That part of the tax code provides for imposing an additional penalty “equal to the total amount of the tax evaded, or not collected.” It also requires written notices to the taxpayer, and provides for court proceedings.

So it may turn out that the IRS will be suing those who fail to pay the tax for double the amount. But so far, the IRS has not spelled out exactly how it will enforce the new penalty with the limited power the law gives it.
