Ya know what's so funny though? I remember a LOT of jokes comparing Bush to a chimp.... no one got upset. I am not so much bothered by the chimp (would you rather the chimp be replaced by a donkey? Actually that would make more sense... since democrats = donkey) but more so that they KILLED the chimp. That was kinda messed up....

Yes--the white police officers demonstrating that the whites have control of law enforcement as well as showing that majority of whites are gun owners and aren't hesistating to shoot a "black monkey" which we know depicts President Obama with the statement of "writing another stimilus bills" in reference that the whites aren't happy with it.

Oh wait a minute--it was a white person that left the economic mess to the incoming President. Oh before I forget--it was a white congress that added all the stipulations in the stimilus bill.

And instead of taking it out on our own--we are taking it out on the "black monkey". Real smart. :roll:

Guess what? It's a hypothetical question that you are asking and the cartoon isn't showing a black officer now is it?

So--we have to deal with what we have right now and that is two white officers killing a "black chimpanzee" and making a reference to the stimilus bill which we all know that the President was going to sign.

The difference between comparing Bush to a chimpanzee is that there are no negative connotations comparing a white guy to a chimpanzee whereas comparing a black person to a chimpanzee is.

So, what? It's just a cartoon, y'all. Just like most of the politic cartoonists bashed on Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumfield for last 8 years. I didn't complain about it, I laughed.

Don´t you know that Travis was shot to death by police after attack last Monday? Do you find this funny that the Cartoonist referred dead Travis who was shot by police last Monday to compare with Obama because of his skin color and ears? The way of his interpretation show itself that Obama should be assassinated over that economic stimulus package...?

This is the way I see it:
This cartoon can be made without racism in mind.
But... in today's world and our history, unfortunately, it most likely is not.
The cartoon is more likely to enforce the inner racism in some people.
I'd hope that one day we can look at a cartoon like this (maybe a bit nicer..), and not think racism at all.

Actually, the more I think about it, the more obvious it is that it's meant to be racist. Because comparing the president to the chimp brought back memories of all those Bush is a chimp jokes, I didn't think anything of it other than Republicans thinking that Obama's stupid, but the more I looked at the cartoon and with the news of Travis and the killing......

Can you please fresh my memory which dead animal, the cartoonist tried to compare to Bush? I only know from saw many comparison pictures of Bush´s behavior/character with animals as jokes... Clinton´s sex jokes.... Really nothing serious... :shrug:
