Hear Again, what gives you the right to tell total strangers what to do?

They did an experiment in Amsterdam where they gave addicts heroin. Their quality of life was much improved and they didnt all overdose. Theyre actually less likely to overdose, cuz they actually know the quanity thats being injected. Some even got bored with heroin and quit.

Legalizing drugs is the same as legalizing alcohol. It brings regulation, control, and reduces crime. If heroin is cheap enough the user wont have to steal or prostitute themself.

Drug users are the last group openly discriminated and persecuted. The freedom to injest any substance is a fundamental human right. Drug users are not criminals, the ones putting them in jail are the real criminals.

and plus - since heroin is illegal.... that means the drug dealers can do whatever they want with their heroin by making it dangerously addictive, lacing it with some dangerous chemical, etc. That's why we see so many corpses around and also infected drug addicts.

back on topic, I agree that Sotomayor life experience brings a fresh perspective to the court over some privaledge white guy like Bush.

Only thing that bothers me is that quote she made. If a white guy said that, he would automatically be condemned and disqualified from being a judge

yup, heroin laced with fentanyl took out a lot of people.

The last time I checked, I was an American citizen who is allowed to express my opinion under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

If you want to dope yourself up to the point where you're hallucinating 24 hours a day, be my guest.

never seen such a huge contradiction like this.....

I think Sotomayer would be an excellent choice despite what all of the naysayers like Rush and the gang think. If Bush had appointed a Hispanic, he would have had absolutely no objection. It figures because Rush is just as racist as he claims Sotomayer to be.

Yes I agree that Sotomayor may be a good choice as it will balance it out among strong conservative judges.

it's kinda funny that some people are bothered by what Rush said about her. He has no bearing in Sotomayor's candidacy at Supreme Court anyway. After all..... Rush is allowed to express his opinion under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

Let him spew all the crap out of his garbage mouth and I don't need to listen to him. Reba isn't either. Are you?

One other thing I forgot to mention. Rush is nothing but a bunch of hot air. It's amazing that people listen to his radio program. I used to listen to Rush during the campaign, but that was because I wanted to have a good laugh at all of the ridiculous things he was saying about Obama and Hillary. Rush is just as pathetic as Sean Hannity, but at least in Sean's case, he has the decency to admit when he's wrong.

I don't think Reba listens to Rush, but I could be wrong. I thought I remember her saying that she hasn't listened to his program in awhile.

I should listen to Rush's show out of curiosity just to see what kind of nonsense he's spewing about Obama.

you're correct - she doesn't listen to his garbage. This is her post (shortened) from several posts ago

I rarely listen to Rush so I'm not current on what he said.

I'm just asking why are you still listening to his crap if you're getting upset by it. It should be treated as senseless entertainment because after all - this is a drug-addict, homophobic, racist, paranoid extreme right-wing person.

lol! please do let us know what outlandish, far-fetched bullshit he's spewing. :laugh2:

I said I listened to Rush during the campaign to get a good laugh. Where did I indicate that anything Rush said bothered me? <confused>

I find that midly amuzing in a prejudicious and bigoted way

If Bush had appointed a Hispanic,
Uhmmm, a Bush did appoint Sotomayor, guess that blows the rest of the statement.

Not true. There was Miguel Estrada. Here's an overview: When Democrats derailed a GOP Latino nominee | Washington Examiner

In November, 2001, representatives of those groups met with Democratic Senate staff. One of those staffers then wrote a memo to Democratic Sen. Richard Durbin, informing Durbin that the groups wanted to stall Bush nominees, particularly three they had identified as good targets. "They also identified Miguel Estrada as especially dangerous," the staffer added, "because he has a minimal paper trail, he is Latino, and the White House seems to be grooming him for a Supreme Court appointment. They want to hold Estrada off as long as possible."

It was precisely the fact that Estrada was Hispanic that made Democrats and their activist allies want to kill his nomination. They were determined to deny a Republican White House credit, political and otherwise, for putting a first-rate Hispanic nominee on the bench.
The party that invented the term "borking" is hardly the example to follow when it comes to judicial nominees.

If you want to know what Rush said, why don't you do a Google search? After all, you're familiar enough with it to do so.

I said nothing of the kind. I was quoting other sources which is entirely different from offering my opinion based on listening to Rush's show. Try again.
