I think she would if you look at the whole context. Are you saying that a white male, never having that kind of experience that she had, would come to a better conclusion than her?
I didn't say that, did I?

I would say that no one makes "better" judgments just because of their racial or ethnic background. If they believe otherwise, then that is a racist viewpoint no matter to which group they belong.

She's a proud Latino woman and her rulings have showed that she has NO racial biases whatsoever, in fact, only weaken's GOP's claim that she's a racist. Heck even Gringrich backed off.
I don't know or claim that she's a racist; I'm only saying that the remark could be considered racist.

Right, Hear Again, but it was a Bush so obviously he saw something there to be happy about.

... I don't need to listen to him. Reba isn't either. Are you?
Not very often. I only hear his program if I'm driving at that time (12 noon to 3 p.m. in my area) and can't get another station in. Sometimes he has guest hosts, and I like to listen to them. But I'm not a fan of Rush.

I don't think Reba listens to Rush, but I could be wrong. I thought I remember her saying that she hasn't listened to his program in awhile.
Right, I listen only rarely and briefly.

George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush are two individuals. In the past you've said neither of them should be judged based on the decisions made by each other. Now you're saying that because George H.W. Bush appointed Sotomayer in 1991 that this directly reflects how his son would perceive her as well. Which one is it? Do you think the actions of father and son should be judged simultaneously or viewed differently since they are two people who presided over the U.S. at two distinct periods in history?

If you want to know what Rush said, why don't you do a Google search? After all, you're familiar enough with it to do so.

oooooo woke up on the wrong side of the bed, si?

you're correct - she doesn't listen to his garbage. This is her post (shortened) from several posts ago

I'm just asking why are you still listening to his crap if you're getting upset by it. It should be treated as senseless entertainment because after all - this is a drug-addict, homophobic, racist, paranoid extreme right-wing person.

Was a drug addict..not is. He learned his lesson.

Not even homophobic. His view on marriage is exactly the same as Obama and Bill Clinton. Would that make Obama and Clinton equally homophobic as well?

Not even racist either. How can he be if he believes everybody deserve an opportunity on success when it comes to making a living? Do you know who Snerdley is that works with Rush who runs the controls during his live shows?

Paranoid hardly describes him if he's a political entertainer on his radio show. He injects comments that make us think and realize about what's going on in American politics. It's a matter of listening to his shows (or read his transcripts for free online) to get an understanding on exactly where he's coming from. What's great is that he doesn't bend to the political winds and does go after Republican politicians just as harsh in highlighting Democrat politicians.

I listen to his radio show every chance I get. Today, finally found two AM radio stations in my new town. I understand everything he says. Enjoys his humor, his insight, his knowledge and common sense. It's not surprising to see and hear these myths and lack of understanding about Rush when it comes to politics. Not afraid to say it but I am a Rush fan. And I admire him. He has donated millions of his own money to worthy causes. He knows what it mean to be a patriotic American.

God bless him.

The last time I checked, I was an American citizen who is allowed to express my opinion under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

If you want to dope yourself up to the point where you're hallucinating 24 hours a day, be my guest.

I thought you were for locking up drug users. I have no desire to dope myself up 24 hours a day. I support drug legalization like I support gay rights/marriage even though I am straight.

I just think drug criminalzation is counter-productive and a waste of money. Thats why I think the drug war should end.

which is what handful of cops, narcs, politicians, and even Obama said. END THIS BILLION-DOLLARS FUTILE WAR!

I am, but what you do in your own time is your business. If you want to continue taking illicit drugs and killing yourself slowly, that's your problem -- not mine.

If I could put you in jail indefinitely for illegal drug use, I'd do it in a heartbeat and throw away the key.

Jiro,

If I were in one of my "moods," I'd probably end up saying something which would get me banned.

However, I'm doing really well thanks to my meds and taking a step back from posts that bother me. :cool2:

what about people who drink and smoke? Thats not good for ones health, you gonna lock them up too? How about obese people who eat too much junk food and soda, should they be locked up to prevent them from developing type 2 diabetes.

Maybe we should lock everyone up and put them on a healthy regiment of diet and exercise.

Smoking doesn't kill anyone except for the smoker (unless you count second hand smoke). The same goes for those who are obese.

If I could outlaw drinking, I would.

However, I don't see that happening anytime soon.
