Hurricane IKE

Morning ya'll

Beautiful weather up here. Right, Maria?

Yes, you are right. Nice and warm weather up here. :D

Maybe one or two more days before the feeder bands gets here...

The trough that is running across the Gulf of Mexico is forecasted to break into two pieces just before Ike goes into the Gulf so it's gonna be a nasty one. Ike shifted downwards a bit more so we're gonna be okay, just batten down and be okay.

I believe so, hopefully ! :fingersx: Mother Nature certainly have its own mind!

I grew up in the NE, we've had blizzards and few Nor'eastners. The last nor'eastner I lived through was one of the storm systems that collided with the second storm system out in the Atlantic in "The Perfect Storm". That storm kept ALOT of us in places overnight. Public transportation was shut down. I've never seen so many broken umbrellas in the NYC streets. No kidding. Then it SNOWED the next day. Weird weather but at least the trains were up and running.

I am hoping that all the buses will be runnin' on the next following week.

Hey, thanks! I love that website. If that hurricane interacts too much with Cuba, it will weaken big time. If not, then a monster!

We will see, like Oceanbreeze said. :)

Yes, like graysonpeddie showed new models do show Ike to stay south with aim on Florida. I had faint hope it was going to be steered NE before getting near SE US.

Hang on I am mailing Dead Money into the eye of Ike with the Hurricane hunter planes, maybe his negativity and pessemism will destroy the energy of the hurricane.

These hurricanes are hitting places where my friends have family :(

Also, don't follow the path of the line.

Update: Heh! I didn't read page 3. The image I'm talking about is in page 2 (depending on the settings for your profile).

The only thing that has changed is the forecast strength. It's back up to a Cat 4 135mph. But, the track itself HAS NOT changed. It's still forecasted to go over Cuba. If it does that, it will run over it and weaken considerably.

Long story short, nobody should turn a blind eye to this thing. Everyone of us in the mix, needs to keep on their toes and take action when necessary.

I was just reading the same thing on CNN. Everyone stay alert and stay safe, please.

Weather man not always right. I know that for sure.

Right..even they said their predictions are not 100% guaranteed...but the fact is, there is a monster hurricane heading towards the states and we need to take it seriously whether it hits Florida, the southern states, the Carolinas, or even the NE states.

Yeah. Every time i smell moist in air. I knew it will rain sometimes soon. Dont know when. Yes we do need to take it seriously.

Exactly, Shel. It's GOING to hit someone in the US, so people need to stay alert.

I hope KweenShasha will be ok...I wonder if she lives in the Southern Bahamas where Ike is predicted to make a direct hit? I cant imagine what it must be like for her now.

can I renig that statement...it has to be the cheesiest dumb thing I ever say on AD

You're forgiven :)

The anxiety is getting to me, personally, so the humor was a welcome break.

I was just listening to our local news, and from what I just hard, the hurricane hunters are flying out into the hurricane now and collecting their data. The Sunday, 5am advisory will basically tell the tale.

Stay turned.

Oh, Yikes! I hope she'll be alright, too.

Southern Bahamas or even in New Providence (where Nassau is) Ike will affect everyone there. I think K'Shasha will be okay---most Bahamaians are pretty seasoned hurricane people. Batten down until it goes by. We're thinking of you there.

Ike will get really weak if it goes over a lot of Cuba. However, that is NOT good for the Cubans. Ike will leave it a very messy country. Too much foliage, poor infrastructure and power may be out for weeks. Ruin the crops.
Cuba's such a gorgeous country mired in poverty.

yeah, if it hits East Cuba to hard, it will be like Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay all over again, but all the nasty people there will escape.
