How Do Insurance Companies Get Away With Calling HA's a Cosmetic Thing?

Its gonna take legislation. Insurance companies arent going to do anything willingly that affects their bottomline.

Right and to get that started, Congress and President will have to be involved. To get them involved is to start writing to them or send one letter with everybody's name on it. Unfortunately, Lobbyist for insurance is huge there!

Exactly. HAs aren't used to change the way someone's ears look...therefore they are not cosmetic.:roll:

my neighbor communicated to me on my telebraille that cnn said obama created a special section on his website where citizens can add their e-mail address to receive notices from the white house regarding changes in legislation, etc. what obama hopes to accomplish by doing this is to pinpoint the number of people who are seeking certain legislation and to give it to them. go, obama! :)
 
I just sent a short messages to Obama and his people. I sugguest everybody do the same. If they get alot of messages regarding that , that may prompt them to think more about it. Last week, I received an email from Obama staff that included a video of him speaking. I have been receiving emails since the campaign. Anyway, I replied to this one, and requested that he add closed captioning to all of his videos so that his deaf supporters, and they were many, could have access to his messages, as well.

We had that problem with our insurance company. I ended up spending a 6 month waiting period to get aid from another source. Our Audi is awsome though she got him a loaner pair of HAs from Little Rock. They did try to file with our insurance company and they didn't pay anything towards the 5k.
 
Some health insurance companies dont like paying for mental health treatments either.

Like an eating disorder? I was told that my ED can not be covered- but if I was an alcoholic, they would pay for my treatment.

Guess I need to suck on the bottle a little to pay for the $566 a day program to help with my ED.

I'm glad they'll pay for something that someone can clearly avoid. You dont NEED alcohol. But when it comes to a substance, like food, in which I clearly have a hard time with- it doesnt matter.

I HATE insurance companies.
