French police report shootout and explosion in Paris

I'm talking about War on Terrorism - with US military involvement and war on terrorism - they didn't start until after 9/11.

I know about there were terrorist attacks on before 1987 but I'm talking about US military involvement to war on terrorism - not official until after 9/11.

Yes, I'm surprised about US got involved and armed the Islamist groups during Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

I believe that military action supposed to be short term or temporary to resolve the crisis as soon as possible.

It is unusual for military action that lasted for 14 years and counting since most wars with US involvement usually last 1-5 years, but could be 10 years for worst cases.

Oh wow, we are stuck with endless war forever.

I want all problems in other countries to be out of our way and we want to focus on best interest for our citizens.

We had Al Qaeda, but now, ISIS is newest terrorist organization, not again.

we just need to stop funding and training any foreign groups.

UPDATE:

Five terror suspects were arrested Wednesday morning and two others were killed, including a woman wearing a suicide vest who blew herself up after police launched a raid targeting the alleged mastermind of last Friday's massacre in Paris….

I knew that there were more involved with Friday's attack.

Disgusting!

"Before a Turkey-Greece men's soccer friendly in Istanbul on Tuesday, some Turkish supporters booed and chanted "Allahu Akbar" - an Islamic phrase meaning "God is great" - during a scheduled moment of silence for the Paris terrorist attack victims, according to an Ankara-based Reuters correspondent…."

This is disturbing. Instead of Muslims disowning the terrorists and their acts, they seem to be supporting them.

:(

A police dog named "Diesel" was killed during a police raid on Wednesday that targeted the suspected mastermind of deadly terror attacks in Paris.

The seven-year-old Belgian Shepherd was killed sometime during the seven-hour siege on an apartment in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis; French police tweeted on Wednesday.

Police posted a photo of Diesel and said, “assault and explosives search dogs are indispensable in the missions of the operators of the raid…."

Say what?! :jaw:

Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday suggested that the "rationale" for the terrorist attack against the satirical French publication Charlie Hebdo, which left 12 people dead in January, is more understandable than any rationale for last week's attacks in Paris.

"There's something different about what happened from Charlie Hebdo, and I think everybody would feel that," he said in remarks at the U.S. Embassy in Paris. "There was a sort of particularized focus and perhaps even a legitimacy in terms of - not a legitimacy, but a rationale that you could attach yourself to somehow and say, 'Okay, they're really angry because of this and that.' This Friday was absolutely indiscriminate."
