Can't we all get along?

It said that "Loughner ended his friendship with Osler through a text message two years ago." There is a link below the article.

People do change in two years. Depends on individual.

Difference is that Loughner was "displeased" with the politician to a great degree.
He was displeased with her as a person, not for political reasons.

Was there evidence that Hinckley was on the same sort if historical dislike prior to the shooting?
I'm not sure what you're asking but it's an example of how nutcase people can attack politicians for non political reasons because they have screwy reasoning.

Loughner is 22. He graduated from high school in what...2005? People change. Way tO pin your impression of recent behavior of Loughner from the "best friend" from 5 years ago. Keep up the shoddy work Fox News.
He kept in touch until two years ago.

"Zach Osler, in an interview Wednesday with ABC's 'Good Morning America,'"

That's not Fox News.

That doesn't matte, I agree people do change. I would hope who I was at 31 is not all of who I am at 32 and so on and so forth, some people change and grow for the better others change for well....

IMO someone caught up in the lure of 15 minutes of fame can not be considered a reasonable source to give accounts for this man.

I will be interested in what you have to say if a Republican Congressional member is shot in the head at close range, and 19 others are wounded. Will you still complain if they cover it? My guess is that this event silently pleases you, because another Obamacare backer bites the dust. Maybe we can get things back to order.

BTW, we have had 10 years of Bush tax cuts. Where are the trickle-down jobs?

1) Who the hell cares which party the wounded and murdered belong to
it certainly does not have anything to do here

2) She is still ALIVE stupid! and I'm NOT please she was shot

3) The jobs are out there (look in the Sunday's employment section of your
paper) Bush can't and never could make people to go to work and take
the jobs.

4) <way ahead of you> Yes, I am aware of the unemployment rate BUT
just because someone is unemployed does NOT mean there is no job
for that person. It could be there is no job he/she really wants, for
whatever reason. The jobs are out there.

In this case, apparently he changed for the worse. :(

For the sake of "getting along" I will say that none of us know why he did the shooting, and there's no reason to blame anyone for what happened other than the killer himself.

Reba and I are on opposite ends of the political spectrum, but I know her well enough to know that she would never be happy about another person's suffering. She's a kind person.

While that's a given, Sallylou, about Reba but in this instance I cannot for the life of me believe that there are those of us here, according to saywhatkid, who would relish in the murder of politicos who have opposing political views.

Any psychopaths here? About 1% of the general population are psychopaths. AD probably has one of our own psychopaths.

I'm demented enough to want to do something terrible to a certain someone.

Ask Saywhatkid; he seemed to be itching to tell.....

I'll also take an unprincipled narcissist. Anyone? :hmm:

Maybe one shouldn't debate about politics so much.

Discussions about Politics is sort of a taboo in Australia. We don't take it to the extreme unlike Americans.

Thank you.

It's true. Removing political opponents by violence has never been a desire of mine. I prefer they either be removed by the election process, or that they see the light and have a change of heart.

Any American who derives joy out of the shooting of a Congressman is as sick as the shooter.

I'm only 25, but from what I think I know about American society is that it used to much more taboo to talk about politics (especially outside family) then (5-10 years) then it is now.

I'm inclined to think we (Americans at least) have more incentive to talk about politics specifically as our socioeconomic wealths haven't really ticked upwards for most of us. I don't know about the Aussies and I won't speculate. But for the French, it seems "normal" to talk about politics without the sort of vehemence (or necessary conditions to fit on one side; for the French there's like 18 major parties it seems like and perhaps we don't disassociate ourselves from party identification enough to respect what other people might be saying or to go against the party platform) that exists in media today. Obviously, this may be entirely different in actual social settings, but for the most part, I think most political discussions with different people are disorganized in thought/language. And I could be completely wrong. Shrug.

Violence doesn't belong in politics; play nice, be sincere and love thy neighbor.

it's un-American to not get along with anybody.

ever wonder why the first rule in the Constitution is Freedom of Speech?
