Brakessssssssssssss

Of course, I rarely flooring on my vehicles (Except one make and model).

BUT couple exceptions which is your incorrect. That is, if you got very small engine, flooring won't drain much, also non-turbo Diesel that I owned back then, I always floor and it just start to move slowly just like if I was hauling 25 tons behind, yet I hit 60MPG most of the time. That non turbo diesel sedan only have 52 horses that is all. I can't go beyond 83MPH, really really impossible without turbo.

and a quicker drain in gas :(

Yes, I do notice with Cherokee if flooring too often, it DOES drain more than needed.

Same with my Diesel truck, I avoid going over 55MPH as much as I can and it does save fuel, same with flooring. My friend always flooring, and he gets 8MPG sometimes. I don't and never gone below 13MPG.

:dunno: I use about half a tank per month.

Yup, especially in NYC, you wanted instant accelerate response otherwise there will be accidents.

But at same time, slower response is best if you got slippery conditions. So, its pros and con. Like I said early floor to make sharp U turn can do with throttle cable.

You mean snow on the road?

Technically your right. I am aware of this, but the same engine 6.0L, little different package like he got fx4 while mine is Harley edition (Mostly luxury related features). My truck drives very smooth than FX4, and it has nothing to do with ETC. Also, same transmission (Torqshift). What I am saying is when I floored (Means slap the fuel pedal all way to the floor). I do notice how long it responded by the way I feel the shaft start to turn. For example, when I floor my friend's F-250, the engine revs right away like instantly while mine, when I floor it and I actually notice it has not rev up for about half to 1 second.

My friend finally drove my truck and told me, "Man! this is damn smoothest, and very soft riding truck I ever drove". My response was, "Yeah, you could go off road without damaging any suspension while mine could get damaged easier... BUT mine is easier on my back"

edit: Wait! Are you saying that could re-programming the time delay for ETC to response to zero so can instant respond?

Yes, Only skill tech can reprogramming everything.

Same here, I took a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT w/5.7L Hemi for fresh brake break-in procedure. Slight slow accelerate response like take 1 second after floor gas pedal. Strange feeling. In few months later, I learned that Jeep GC need software reprogramming to correct slow accelerate response by thru TSB. I don't reprogram them, always send the newer vehicles to dealer to do software reprograms

Like I said I used work at dealership for GM and Chrysler for a half year. Almost most techs plus me were overwrite/update/programmer on newer Chrysler like almost EVERYDAY for electrical issue/response/etc. Sometime reprogrammer on same vehicles again.

Worse than GM. GM was not bad and reprogrammer like once a month.

You mean sharp U turn part? No, it was not on snow. Just puddle in hot summer day. I can't recall when but I know weather was so beautiful for few hours after moderate rain.
Actually my Jeep, drivers side was on the puddle, other side on dry pavement, when light turns to green. I don't know why I floored that time and all sudden it made very sharp U turn and i slapped brake and I was already on other lane and opposite of direction. LOL Yeah, I was like whoa!

I get 18-21 mpg, depending on traffic conditions.

Not giving up your Jeep for a fuel saver? To me, 18-21 mpg is bad in todays standards. The average mpg for a rental car fleet is about 27 mpg.

LOL, I don't even have traction control, ABS, etc and survived fine in snow and ice. All you need is a good driver and drive slow.

Not about skill driver. It's safety for everyone. Like out of blue when deer jump on the road and dodge it from the hit then out of control and hit on the tree or car. It may be happen like idiot drove thru red light, kid ran over the road, etc.

My wife had awful accident from NY and she was drove so slow like 20 mph when she went over the bridge then out of control and crash. She got black out. She wake up in the ER and Police told her that it was not her first time. Other 6-8 vehicles got crash in same place and same time. The black ice was very danger than just ice.

SKip to 4:40. It's exactly same driver skill but Volve's programmer is shitty for AWD.

I have no car payments (no car payments for several years now), low insurance rates, low personal property tax due to value of Jeep, and spend about $35 per month for gas. I can haul whatever I want in it or behind it. So?

Of course, black ice is dangerous than regular ice because you can't see it right away. Worse case, driving at night with deer jumping out in front of you...freaky.

If you commute heavily with the Jeep, it would be better off with a used fuel saving car but sounds like you don't so you are in good hands. :)

what I'm saying is that 4x4 drains gas faster than 4x2.

Hmmm, I see. Since Diesel isn't cheap, no reason to change it. I would like it to be at most efficient as possible.

Same reason here, my Cherokee's already paid off. If I wanted trade for fuel efficient cars, it may not benefit economically, you forgot the car payment, and the fuel savings each month maybe only 25 dollars, is it worth to shell 200 dollars monthly payment to save 25 dollars on fuel each month? It is all about dollars and cents.

I would go ahead trade for fuel efficient vehicle based on two conditions, that one is fuel efficient, second is frequent repairs on vehicle. So, my Cherokee is very reliable, no headache, always there always runs for us, so that makes it not good enough for first condition. But if I had to send Cherokee every 2-6 months for repairs, then yeah valid enough for first condition :)

Right. I forget added it's happen to me before when I was just drove at 30mph in 30mph speed limited during winter time then I saw light turned in the redlight then I applied brake to slow down and it got out of control and crash. I learned my lesson that I changed new tires during winter time due bad tires. The four new tires was only two days old then crash. :ugh:

I almost hit deer like two times near QC. I can image about night with deer. It's happen to few of my friends.
