a $300 bike compared to a $2000 bike makes the ride so much easier. I was effortlessly pedaling behind mr potts at 18mph. I don't think i even pedaled 50% of the time.

Was the 2K bike a recumbent?

What brand?

A friend is selling me a $5,000 2008 bike to me for $300... buddy discount.

Its in the jeep now. I think its a specialized or something

Making me consider buying Blue with SRAM Red set up. 15 pounds for $2400.

I learned RoseRodent is a new member. I am very jealous and wish I had thought of that name.

People in wheelchairs, CP, older folks who can't hold their balances use them.

People who prefer touring at high speed also use them too. :)

I was in one of those before... a lot more fun than a regular bike.

I should have thought of those too. It's just that it was a bit hit among the hippie eco crowds when I was a teen.

If we are still talking about recumbents, I vaguely recall one in Popular Science a couple yrs back going for 7K smackers!

I had a recumbent exercise bike and loved it. Had to sell it before we moved. Wish I had a recumbent bike now. With my leg problems, I can't ride a regular bike anymore.

I learned from chatting with my daughter on VP (yay!) that my ex husband already quit his new job in AZ.

So glad that you got to hear from her. I hope she keeps the lines of communication open for you.

Well - what is ex-hubby's problem? Does he miss his previous work too much, or is he realizing that having a tween/teen around can be a little stressful? :giggle:

Geez!! He wasn't there for long. Well, I wish your daughter and his family good luck through his transitioning.

I learned that my daughter is leaning to use power tools! We have a neighbor who is a retired special needs teacher and he has come over and with hubby keeping en eye out, the teacher and my daughter are using left-over wood and building a house for one of my teddy bears. (I have a collection). the teacher is trying new ways to work with her and her math skills. She will get school credit for this. Yay!!!

I'm happy you finally got in touch with your daughter. :)

But I wonder why your ex quit his job?

Oh no wonder. Construction was big in Charlotte, NC till the housing bubble burst and then break-ins started going up. I moved to Lynchburg as a result.

And my parents thought 500 dollars was too much for my bike!
