Yes he is. He asked me if I wanted to have mother nature wash my car for free, interior included! Last summer when I was down they had some flooding, but this sounds a lot worse!

ah... yea Ocean County is a beautiful relaxing place... a great place for retirees or summer getaway but... unfortunately it's a flood-prone zone. All you gotta do is have your house raised and you're somewhat ok. My terp is from there. Her entire families and extended families are there too.

yeah, when I get tinnitis in my R ear I get the head phone and crank it up all the way with music so I can hear some and it helps temporarily

A bit off topic, but I have been studying musical hallucinations recently. I have been comparing the hallucinations experienced by people suffering from psychosis compared with the phenomena of musical hallucinations that have been reported in deaf people (usually late deafened.) People who experience ongoing tinnitus will often get musical hallucinations for awhile. It would appear, that in those who have lost their hearing, it is not so much pathology, but an adaptive effort of the brain to create stimulus that is now absent because of the hearing loss.

I know, I know......but the mention of tinnitus reminded me, and I thought it was interesting.:giggle:

I'm not late deafened but I've heard musical hallucinations. At times, it sounds like opera singing or it may sound like I'm listening to the radio. The voices do not seem to be at all aware of me. it drives me crazy. :P

I have thought it is possible I started to lose hearing at age 19 but I'll never know for sure.

Watched a Documentary about climbing the Mount Everest... very interesting... but very dangerous too. I knew it was dangerous but that even experience climbers could die due to lack of oxygen was unknown by me... I felt so sorry for the guy and his family members who were about to learn about their loss :( *sigh*

I learned a male rat can bread up to 120 times a day.

Male lions breed up to 50 times a day in the wild.

Hmmm brings whole new meaning to cat and mouse......

I learned that Hummingbirds eat 50 to 60 times a day.

That between 2 to 15% of the population has eidetic memory. (photographic memory)

You know, that is actually a very common phenomena. I didn't realize it until I started doing some serious research about the topic. I found it really interesting. And it just clarifies that what is pathological in one person is really an adaptive response in another.

If you don't mind me asking, does that tuning fork drone stick on one particular pitch or musical tone?

Started this thread a while back.....You might find it interesting

I am one of them (maybe)...although it is not like the guy on Criminal Minds...Mine seems to be related to numbers more so than words too. I see a number...it's recorded. Some times I actually flash...kind of like Chuck. A character from your favorite show.....Freaky huh:lol:

Learned that the pitching/catchers coach, and the head coach's wife really did not want me present during her training. They said kids usually do better without the parents there.

No I have it too. I remember lists of names and not numbers at all. It is way more common than I realized.

For TXGOLFER--we were fixing to to to Ez Burger yesterday but got sidetracked. I learned that the owner had some dispute with his employer, In n Out in 1969 so he quit and struck out on his own. Now he has 12 of these stores and has ventured to offering breakfast, chicken sandwiches, etc. Most of the 12 are around here but I saw that there's one in Orem, UT. We will be going there soon.
