What did you learn today?

No, he was talking about the "acting" age. What he means is the "age" he was portraying, which was something like 40ish years old and NOW Will Smith is older than that.

So you mean Will Smith (real life) is now older than the character that was Will's Smith Uncle on the show?

I hope that's what he meant. It's because he used "was" not "is". I can see the confusion, because the way Grummer phrased it it did sound like he was saying Smith was older than his uncle, probably not what he meant though.

If you haven't noticed-- none of my current threads have been locked as of late, and plus, there's a thread above warning members NOT to harass me. Since then, things have gotten better, but I still have to watch myself, though.

If I remember right, it was also put in place that you need to be less reactive if you get teased.

You keep conveniently forgetting that as you threaten everybody with your friend the mod...

I learned the most elders people are being so grumpy and grouchy.

A lot of elderly people are grouchy and grumpy because they have a negative outlook on their life. They believe they have regrets.

What? Not what I met lot of elders people who are so cranky. Most of them are cheery or happy out there except those people who have health issues or mind issues. That is another story.

How do you define for age that you thnk elder people are? Age over 50 or 60 or 70>

My both parents are over 70's and are not cranky. They are very happy, slow and mellow. They enjoy their life except health issues.

I really wish that you guys dont think how elder people are because you guys will be becoming like them and other kids call you like that cranky thingy. :SMH:

Where are all these elderly people who have a life filled with regrets? The ones I know have amazing stories, travels, experiences. The ones I spend time with are proud of their accomplishments, children, grandchildren etc. If you sit and actually spend some quality time with them, they will teach you so much. I actually have never met an elderly person with regrets, I truly mean that. I have met elderly people that are sad at times, they miss their spouse, children don't take the time to go visit, they are in physical pain etc. It really does not take much to brighten their day. Next time you see a "grumpy" elderly person.....instead of assuming they have regrets.....ask them how their day was.

maybe they watch tv too much.

Hey, in his 70s, my Grandpa took time to teach me how to drive manual in a 1971 Datsun 240Z!!! That was back in 1993-1994.

Who knew that senior citizens would drive such cool vehicle!!! I bet that my Grandpa was envy of the block.

Just because your parents are over 70 and are not cranky, it doesn't justify you claiming that you don't think elderly people are not grumpy. Just the two of your parents do not speak for the entire population of the elderly. This is why I didn't use absolute quantifiers and instead used "some" or "many".

maybe they watch tv too much.

Either that or they gossip too much. Hahaha.

My grandma loves to gossip and when my great grandma was alive she dis too. Bith seem to enjoy it very much.

I learned that people can be highly opinionated when it come to issues regarding dogs and eating habits.

I work with lot of elder people too. ;)

Used to work with a ton of elderly and most of them were very happy. That's even living in the nursing home.

You can plainly see it in their face and their emotions tells it all. Elderly people do have regrets when they look back on their long life as they have plenty of time during the day to retrospect on their life. Like I said earlier, not all elderly people have that mindset.
Maybe some do.

Some grumpy old people were also grumpy young people.

Sometimes medicine side effects can make people appear grumpy.

Sometimes they have a reason to be grumpy with certain younger people--some younger people are annoying!

Well, some of the ADers are older than you and me, and I'm pretty sure they find those comments offensive, and possibly certain younger ones, too. You need to tread carefully when you comment.
Yeah--I'm one of those older ADers, and I might become a grumpy old person about those comments.

a long long time ago when I was a little farthead... I was on family vacation to Grand Canyon. the line was very long at men's bathroom and I had to shit so bad that I made my mom go with me into women's bathroom. I was arrested by Park Ranger for indecency and I had to be registered as a sex offender. I'm still currently banned from all federal national parks.
No way that story is true--the men's restroom line is never longer than the women's restroom line.

I'm in my 30's and I'm already grumpy. I carry a roll of newspaper with me all the time to hit on young'un's head if they don't listen right or talk right.

you must always look at me when I'm talking to you and do not.... ever..... say.... "you know what I mean?" or "he/she was like..." :mad2:
