What did you do today?

I spent most of my day on AD,looking after the babies and sorting things out!

KristinaB, wow, I didn't know all your background. Sounds like you are way better equipped than the average person to deal with all this.

She was weighed at the doctor Friday, and we found that she has gained an additional 16 pounds.

That does not sound good, does it? In just a short time, she's gained 16 lbs.? Did the doctor say why he thought that might have happened, like severe water retention or something?

My thoughts are with you as you go through this. It's never easy.

Someone please give me a DEEP SCRUB!!! I feel SOO DIRTY!!!!!.....

I visited walmart's site today.

I just bought socks for walking and they sent it right to my home for only 97 cents.

Plus due to wearing childrens socks, it only cost 6.88 for ten pairs.

I would do an act of contrition, but I am poor.

Weight gain is from not staying on her diet and eating Wendy's chili, Burger King's fish sandwich or KFC daily. She also eats hot dogs 3 at a time. She will not let me cook for her. I use too many seasonings or not the right ones for her and everything she has, has to have double cheese, and either mayo, or ketchup or both. She knows what caused that, she just overeats and has for years.

I cut up carrots, onions, potatoes and browned my round roast and then stuck it in my crockpot for dinner with a good dose of horseradish sauce and Worshire sauce.

Am finding great info for my train trip later this year. Found a discussion board for Amtrak trains. For now, just reading/lurking.

Update on my MIL issues, I have now made a trip to WalGreens and CVS for some items to tide her over tonight. We called her doctor, got the doctor on call, he called her doctor and she will be admitted to a nursing home for rehab tomorrow. She is able to roll over, but is not able to stand up. Maybe we can get her to stand tomorrow or maybe the doc will send an ambulance for the transport. We will see. I have to take my mother to a doctor in the morning and then hubby will be dealing with his mother, but I hope to know what's going on. This is something else entirely.

A nursing home (for rehab) or home care is probably best. Since the ER doctor's had seen her earlier, they know that she doesn't need to be in the hospital (and I'm sure her insurance would prefer the less expensive nursing home care).
Hope she gets better soon.

:hmm: Maybe you should make the garage an accessible home and have her move into it (with a scooter/wheelchair, etc).

I am awed and humbled by people's resilience in the face of utter disaster. :cool2:

I'm so sorry. I've been worried about you lately. A lot going on. I think the rehab situation will be good for your MIL, at least temporarily. Will keep you all in our prayers.

Today was such a beautiful day, and it was warm, 70 degrees for the first time like since Fall, lol. Winter here was terrible, rainy all the time and it was in 40's/50's most of the time. I was getting sick of it, so anyways I was so happy to wake up and see the sun out, also to have warm temperature. So We went out to downtown Portland and walked around, taking advantage of the warm weather. We went to Saturday Market, and Mila seemed to enjoy walking around with us, meeting other dogs. There were lot of people out in downtown Portland, enjoying the rare beautiful weather. Afterwards, I had Dragon boat practice... and then around 5, we went home and Ricky made dinner for me, which was soo sweet of him. Now I'm just relaxing, watching Last Standing Cake.

My day was aweful is all I can say. I just have to look for a place of my own as soon as I land a better paying job.

Sorry to hear you had a awful day. :(

Yes, hope the week will better.

Hello bottesi I am busy all the time lots of activities :) I am pretty research lots of heavy hard work :) I am very tough today :)

I just farted.

Later today going to go look at new apartments. Since I've had my "real job" for a while now, I can afford to start looking at "luxury apartments".

Well - busy day for me and almost no time for relaxation, but I am trying to eek it out when I can.

Took mother to doctor (dermatologist). She has swelling in her leg that she had surgery on 2 1/2 years ago. (yes, we are still dealing with that), so we have 2 different creams for the dry skin and eczema and I have to wrap it with an ace bandage during the day. He wanted to use an Uma boot, but we refused after the problems she had last time. I have also vacuumed all carpets, given MIL a bed bath and changed her sheets and such just like she was a patient in a hospital. Luckily I have all the CNA training behind me. It will take 2-3 days for all the paperwork and phone calls before we can get her into the nursing home. (they are over-crowded here, waiting lists everywhere) Will be doing 2 bed baths daily until then and all lotion and massages I can do to keep bed-sores from appearing.
