What did you do today?

MIL fell again late last night. Hubby was unable to leave work as he was the only person there waiting for someone to relieve him. Son tried and tried to help her get up but was unable to. Basically, she was fine. Just fell backwards trying to get into her bathroom and landed on her bottom, but leaning against her shelves and hamper in that hallway. We called 911, 3 EMT’s with fire rescue came out. They got her up and supported her as she walked to her bed. They checked her over. All vital signs were okay. Because she was able to walk, they did not suspect anything was broken. She refused to go to hospital and promised to call her doctor today.

Now, for today, she has called her primary care doctor. He has no available openings today, but his partner, (who happens to be my mother's doctor as well as mine) is able to see her in the North County office this afternoon.

Well, she has been on pain medication since her first fall and just this past weekend, her doctor prescribed a muscle relaxer. I'm not sure, but I think she may have taken too many of the muscle relaxers between Wednesday and yesterday. Yesterday, she was very slow, tired and could not think of the words she wanted. She had an appointment to see the orthopedist, but due to her "lethargy" she was not ready in time. They called her, and she said she would be there, but a little late as she was getting dressed. Well, we finally got there 1 hour after her appointment time and they said she had to reschedule and made the new appointment for 5/10. She was in tears from the frustration. She has been walking with a walker just to support herself. All long she has been doing pretty well, but yesterday was the worst. She has the appointment today and then she got an earlier appointment with the orthopedist for Monday afternoon.

Monday will be some kind of day for me. I have to take my mother to an appointment at 10:30 am, come home, have a fast lunch, then take MIL to an appointment for 2:30. And MIL wonders why I haven't scheduled my appointments with the neurologist and rheumatologist yet. Ah well, such is life.

So I have spent my day taking her to a doctor, the lab for more blood work and the imaging office for x-rays. Oh Joy!!

Today I've been busy researching for the wedding, so basically been planning things for the wedding, try to get started.

Today is a nice day out so later after dinner, we are going take our dog Mila to the dog park so that'll be nice to relax.

TXGolfer, This is for you. My favorite Boston t-shirt, from "Cool as a Moose." I bought it last year. Haven't worn it to a game yet, on account of being chicken...

Ah, the link doesn't completely work. Go to the site, then click on "other popular tees," then look for "Boston - this is your brain...." on a navy blue background.

Awesome....That is a must buy!

I worked both jobs, went to Maddie's softball practice, went to a fish fry, talked to a friend on the phone for 2 hours and ended up being a 2-hour pep talk. My DD and I are getting out of the house for the weekend as of tomorrow night to get away from the animosity around here. Hopefully I can use this 'getaway' to find my confidence again. =/

Enjoy the week-end with DD. That is the best therapy ever.

I hope so because we're going to a friend's house to stay the night in her house and she's already offered the jacuzzi to me. (I've never been in a jacuzzi) This could be interesting.

That jacuzzi is just what you need! It will relax you to the point that your muscles will feel like jello! For you right now, I'd say that's a good thing!:P

Glad that you have a friend that will support you right now.

I hope so, I have a friend that used to be a masseuse until she got arthritis real bad and she said my muscles were so tight it would take 3-4 sessions by a good masseuse to loosen them up. That's bad apparently. The last time my muscles felt like jello was during high school and I lifted weights then ran two miles back-to-back.
Those are nice! I hope you enjoy the weekend at your friend's house!
I've heard they are nice, but I've never gotten the opportunity to experience one until now. I shall post a jacuzzi pic on facebook tomorrow via facebook mobile.

Good thing is on Monday I am to make my iPhone 4 purchase, so maybe between the getaway at my friends and the Monday purchase - I might be in a better mood. At least until the next thing comes along. :aw: I think this will be good for myself AND my DD. We both need to get away from the animosity around here.

KristinaB, I'm so sorry you're facing such tough times with your mother and your MIL. You're a saint to be juggling the needs of both of them to get to their appointments and get taken care of.

Do take care of yourself in all this; rest, tea with honey, whatever it is you need. Be as good to yourself as you are to others.

Hey Kristina, you need to join me and my DD at my friend's house this weekend. I think this will be the most relaxing time I've had in FOREVER.

We are going to spending our weekend moving our stuff out of the garage and into a storage unit to prepare for the construction.

Enjoy your weekend.

WTF was that?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!??!

I was listening to Paul Oakenfold on my laptop and my dad comes into my room, leans way the fuck over me and looks at my laptop and asks "What in the hell is that?"

"my laptop"

"no, what is it?"

"my laptop"

"i thought you were looking at something."

"no"

"oh, it's just noise, then." turns around, grumbles something under his breath and stomps out.

WTF? :wtf:

rode in to work. nearly got killed by a taxi driver as usual.
rode to NY Auto Show with my friend. great time.
rode to chinatown for some pho. great soup.
rode to Queensborough Bridge to escort my friend back home. a bit hairy ride but same ole' to me.
rode home. nearly got killed. he was just inches away from hitting me as he was weaving past me and other cars at extremely high speed. I think he's a carjacker :dunno:

home sweet home.

Went to work in the morning, after , I came home cleaned the the typewriter with dish soap and rag gotta start somewhere, its still in poor condition. I did my usual evening zumba class and ABS class :)

So far today, I have cleaned the litterbox, gone to Home Depot and Lowe's to check on more paint samples and storage sheds for the lawn mower. Also, Home Depot had some great plants and such that I would love to have to line the driveway and thorny plants to put along a fence line to discourage fence jumpers. Too bad, I won't be able to get them for almost a year. At least I have now chosen paint colors for the outside of the house, the kitchen, living areas and all bedrooms except son's.

Went to Burger King for lunch with a family group, bought vegetable plants, and stopped at an office store for a wireless mouse as I killed the computer mouse.

KristinaB, I hope your MIL and all your family are feeling better quick !!

Dixie, I don't know if you'll be on this weekend with your weekend/Jacuzzi (!!) plans, but I hope you have a good time and away from home for a few days! :)

MIL is doing a little better. She is more mobile and totally with it. She still has pain, but does expect it and is looking forward to seeing the ortho doc on Monday. She is also looking forward to getting the construction started and has asked for my help in regulating her medicines and such. She realizes that she messed up with that and wants help. She has also said that she can tell if her brain tumor increases in size (she's had 2 others removed) and has not felt any difference and has not had any of the side effects that would say. This tumor is basically pressing on the ocular nerve or something like that and affects vision. If they remove it, she will be completely blind as they will end up cutting the nerves and muscles. She knows that if her vision changes drastically (she sees the opthamologist 3 times a year), then she will contact her oncologist.

My family is basically fine. Luckily.
