While I let you know, that I have alot of families living in the south...especially Georgia and Florida and I'm just thankful that we are not a bunch of rednecks hateful overzealous racists like some other southerns would be  but to tell u the truth, one of my great great great grandfathers has fought in the civil war for the confederate states and I'm just not too happy to hear about the history of the war between the north and south over slaves, money, land, and other things.
Over the years, many americans suggested the confederate state flag to be put down since alot fears that it actually stands for hate and racism and other shit like that...even President Clinton himself asked the southern governments to put the flags down too but they told him it's none of his business and they will handle the problems their own way. While it's okay to learn about those in history, but still, many still get confused and upset about those confederate states flags still hanging...even one time I heard a student had a huge confederate state flag hanging on his car and the princial ordered the student to take that off since it would obviously offend the black community when they see that flag in school and other places.
even one time as I went on a highway and saw a truck with alot of confederate bumper stickers on the back of its truck epescially with some qoute saying "SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!" now what does that tell you? that there's gonna be more wars in the north/south over slavery, money, and land again? At least it's a good thing that Licolin was a good president for sayin that we should no longer have slaves since they are people like us too...and you know what? as I'm an north carolinan, NC and SC released their slaves free earlier than other states did. slaves are not considered to be objects or property to the wealth and the wealth should be ashamed of that crap.
even though my family's kind of rich, but we never owned slaves..or at least I think we didnt but my grandparents did HIRE maids and housekeepers who were mostly black women but gets paid fairly well anyway...they never say such racist comments to those people anyway.
sorry people, I just dont feel that the confederate state flag doesnt' feel very much "americanized" to us all northerns and southerns since I know there's a history behind that and I know that it doesnt stand for slavery or evil or hate or whatever but it still brings up the awful memories before and after the civil war...
