Tax on tanning is racist

That's not what I was talking, I use "game" for example.

Fair Tax Act does hurt low income so far because they have pay 23% as everyone does.

Other example, low income people are buying $50 value of needs, such as clothes, cleaning purposes, towel, basket, furniture, etc so they will have pay 23% plus sale tax from state, county or city to make final total, If middle class people are buying $50 value of needs so they will have pay 23% too, plus sale tax from city, state, county so it isn't fair because any people who has more money should pay more taxes than anybody who has less money.

Maybe you should read that again....the poor are "prebated" for necessary expenses. That means the tax will not affect them when purchasing essentials.

Fair Tax and Flat Tax are not the same thing. Flat Tax is an income tax. Fair Tax is a sales tax, with NO INCOME TAX.

Are you saying that low income people under the present system can truly afford Wii games? Then I guess either their income isn't really so low after all, or they aren't prioritizing their expenses properly.

If they can afford a Wii game, they can afford the tax.

Best word to say, Fair Tax Act is regressive tax, it means you have pay same rate as everyone does.

I had seen many young blue collar workers buy game console, especially some of employees at my old work when their expense is small, depends on individual.

No, I believe that anyone make more money should pay more taxes, that's what I support progressive tax.

I did but not enough detail about exemption, even I'm sure that they will have pay same rate as everyone does.

Otherwise, I believe that everyone is deserved to have entertainment.

BTW as for earlier comments about racism and the TEA Party. Here is an email I just received from Tupelo. I will be there Saturday afternoon. Huntsville and Nashville on Sunday.

(Name redacted)

Dear Thelonious Xavier Golfer,

It has been almost a year since our First Tea Party. We have been very blessed in the past year to not have anything bad happen at our events. This is because you and all the other Tupelo Tea Party Members are one of the Greatest examples of Conservative Activism in North MS! With this in mind, let's continue to prove our great reputation and show that we fully understand "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Please continue to have great wisdom and discernment when making signs, we may have national and international news coverage of our event. Let's make sure that we don't present anything that could be misconstrued and used for the liberal media agenda.

Finally, we want you to know that Tupelo Tea Party wouldn't be what it is today without you! Currently we have 650 contacts on our email list alone and about 150 addresses for people without email. Our membership is still growing, and you are the one to thank for spreading the news to your neighbors and family.

We all know that a lot has changed in this past year and we are moving further toward Socialism than we may have ever imagined. This is the time for us to get grounded in what this country was based on, The Constitution.

We know you are busy trying to keep up to date with all the crazy things going on in the world right now. Please do not forget that we must know the Truth in order to tell what is a lie. Our Founding Fathers worked for decades to produce The Constitution, we must study it and know exactly what it says so we can speak out clearly against those things that are done unconstitutionally.

Thank you so much again for being a part of the Tupelo Tea Party!

Sincerely,
Tupelo Tea Party

Perhaps, We have libraries and parks. Art museums are usually free or very cheap. To say people are entitled to high tech games is a little ridiculous though. If the poor really want that stuff.....get a 2nd job. When I wanted to take my family to Hawaii I didn't call Uncle Sam and ask for money or complain about my taxes.....I worked more. Life is simple that way.

Whatever, you can believe in it.

I have different opinion about against on Fair Tax Act.

I'm glad that wouldn't going be happen in anytime.

That 23% is the total tax. That's all.

The person earning $8 per hour gets to keep his whole paycheck. NO DEDUCTIONS.

"All valid Social Security cardholders who are U.S. residents receive a monthly prebate equivalent to the FairTax paid on essential goods and services, also known as the poverty level expenditures. The prebate is paid in advance, in equal installments each month. The size of the prebate is determined by the Department of Health & Human Services’ poverty level guideline multiplied by the tax rate. This is a well-accepted, long-used poverty-level calculation that includes food, clothing, shelter, transportation, medical care, etc. "

In bold, they still have to pay state income tax, whatever it applies in states.

People who earn more money will spend more money, which means they WILL pay more taxes.

A person who buys a $60,000 car will pay a lot more tax than a person who buys a $6,000 car. A poor person won't buy a $60,00 car. Make sense?

No state is required to repeal its income tax or piggyback its sales tax on the federal tax. All states have the opportunity to collect the FairTax; states will find it beneficial to conform their sales tax to the federal tax. Most states will probably choose to conform. It makes the administrative costs of businesses in that state much lower. The state is paid a one-quarter of one percent fee by the federal government to collect the tax. For states that already collect a sales tax, this fee proves generous. A state can choose not to collect the federal sales tax, and either outsource the collection to another state, or opt to have the federal government collect it directly. If a state chooses to conform to the federal tax base, they will raise the same amount of state sales tax with a lower tax rate -- in some cases more than 50 percent lower -- since the FairTax base is broader than their current tax base. States may also consider the reduction or elimination of property taxes by keeping their sales tax rate at or near where it is currently. Finally, conforming states that are part of the FairTax system will find collection of sales tax on Internet and mail-order retail sales greatly simplified.

Does Fair Tax Act will applies to auto? I know that auto is usually include small sale tax like 3% in Alabama, along with other fees.

In above, if you buy $50 value of items so $50 * 23% = $11.50 then total is $61.50 but don't forget about county/state/city sale tax applies, like in my county is 9% so it will be $50 * 32% = $16.00 so total would be $66.

Some states don't have an income tax. Regardless those taxes have to be paid no matter what federal Tax system we have. The Alabama State income tax is low peaking at 5%. It is 2% for the poor and they have exemptions.

...Otherwise, I believe that everyone is deserved to have entertainment.
Then maybe the government should issue Netflix coupons instead of Food Stamps? How about free government iPad give-aways instead of boxes of cheese?

Here's a thought:

If you don't have as much tax money withheld from your paycheck, maybe you'll be able to afford a few entertainment treats yourself!

Otherwise, maybe people should shape their entertainments to fit their budgets.

Again you pay those taxes anyway.

Are you considered anyone whoever work at minimum wage as poor? If you work at minimum wage so you have pay 4% because usually more than $500 per month, at least for full time.

O rly, I have feel that I would have pay more taxes under Fair Tax Act than existing tax system (progressive tax).

In last year, I was hard work earner and saved up for MacBook Pro, that what I need for college and took around several month to reach the achievement and bought via online with no sale tax because of Oregon, but under Fair Tax Act so it will going be 1 year or more.

Good heavens. Entertainment is a necessity? No. It's not. It's a want, not a need. Food is a need. Shelter is a need. Water is a need. Medicine is a need. Clothing is a need. But entertainment? Nope.
