Student got arrested in a major drug bust at Gallaudet University

It may depend largely about how the judge feels about her. If it's her first offense, she still went over the 1/2 lb felony for dealing. The bad thing about this case about it is a big intent to distribute, whoever is pressing charges will make sure that it is seen..

The article in OP said:

oh my.... I don't see how she will be getting out of this

... unless she has a bigger fish for them to fry

Not to get everybody stirred up again.....but this school is almost entirely funded by the Federal Government. I wouldn't be surprised to see federal charges brought in this case. It is a real black eye for the school.

It isn't Gallaudet University's fault about drug case, so no federal action will going against the GU.

GU already have policy that cover the drugs and consequences that required by federal law and they follow the federal law over DC law, so it means no marijuana for students who are medically necessary on GU campus.

You could lose the financial aid if you have drug violation from university. (BIG WARNING)

lol I think the financial aid is the least of her worries

I guess so because she's closer to graduate or have a lot of private scholarship.

I believe that consequence by GU may be not make as public, such as want know if she gets expelled or suspended, however students will know that.

Excuse me - I don't quote your post.

No misunderstood, though.

If your post #106 was in any way in response to my post #105, you misunderstood my post.

If it was not a response, my mistake. :cool2:

no.......

she will be.... JAILED! ..... for a long time. Do you understand the gravity of situation she's in? It's serious. very serious. serious enough to land perhaps at least 10 years in jail.

but she hasn't through the trial and not know about conviction yet.

it's pretty much a guarantee that she'll graduate in prison instead of Gally

re-read Post #102. I don't think you really understand the gravity of situation she's in.

Oh, ok. So this....

Was in no way in response to this...

I will take your word for it then. I apologize for my assumption.

Me doesn't understand? I'm not going to assume about whatever punishment she will receive, so it is up to the court and jury, so they could make difference.

Repeat - I don't have prediction, however if you did, so you seems don't agree about innocent until proven guilty.

I'm not a judge nor jury therefore... "innocent until proven guilty" does not apply because we're not in a courtroom. this is a forum where everybody is free to predict however and whatever we want. so why don't you be a good boy and sssssshhhhh?

if you think she's not gonna get convicted or get a light punishment or "expelled" from Gally... then I must say you are sorely out of touch with reality.

D.C. police say Sunday night they arrested her after a sizeable amount of marijuana, pills and cash were found in her dorm room. Police allege she was dealing.

D.C. police arrived and said they found almost two pounds of marijuana, 700 assorted prescription pills, scales and drug paraphernalia, dozens of fudge bars and chocolates which contained marijuana and were allegedly wrapped and ready for distribution and $1,460 in cash hidden in a closet.

that's at least 5+ criminal charges with intent to distribute. that's plenty enough for at least 10+ years in jail. it's nearly impossible to weasel your way out of this serious charges. "I found it" or "it's not mine" won't work.

Again.... I said the only possible way to get a good deal is to give them a bigger fish to fry.... like a major supplier(s).

You are free to not assume and leave it up to court to deal with it but you shouldn't go hollering around with "innocent until proven guilty" to us. we don't care and we're not in a courtroom. capisce? :cool2:

First - I'm man and I'm free to express my view, so ask me to be good boy and being ssshhh aren't work for me. I don't break any forum rules and I don't have to agree with you, or being doubtful.

That's not my thinking about her conviction will getting overturn or getting lesser charge, however it is possible for her.

I don't represent her case and I was very curious about how court will be proceed.

Bold - I already got severely backfired by other members in GZ vs. TM case because I didn't believe in "innocent until proven guilty" in this forum. That was not hollering and I was cautiously giving you a tip - questionable and doubtful.

Also, I'm a little lenient on those case because I don't believe in drug wars and really very curious about how works out.

I agree with DHB in earlier posts.

I found that one of post is rude so I'm not going say in nice matter, so it is my wish to move on.

You are going to never know what will the outcome be. I know a case where I couldn't believe how lenient the court were. I think it has to do with how one is represented, like a damn good attorney for instance. I don't think this person will receive ten years sentence but I could be wrong.

Want know why? Alright if you guys know a god damn SICKO guy named Scott Wade Smith, Westmoreland county, PA. Go ahead Google up, at first I thought he is going to spend all his life in jail due to the gravity of his crime... DEAD wrong! He received just minimum ten years, up to 30 years for his hidenous crime!!!! I was furious and outraged but since it is the DOJ that makes decision, I let them go. Once you research after google up "Westmoreland, PA Scott Wade Smith" and you might want to have barf bag ready and you will be supremely pissed off, and might vomit as well.

Also don't forget judge can overturn jury decision and choose his own sentence. He can overrule Jury if they recommend probation and instead give Molly jail time. If they change pot laws in DC anytime Molly is serving, she can have appellate court anyway.

I read some lawyer sites for DC with PWID (Possession with Intent to Distribute) pot in DC looks like Class Schedule I substance, and it strongly involve jail time for over 1/2 lb.

Washington D.C. Drug Charges Attorney | District of Columbia Drug Possession Lawyer | Washington D.C. Gang Crimes Attorney
Drug Possession in Washington, D.C.: Marijuana, PCP, Cocaine, Crack, Oxycodone, Heroin, and Other Illegal Substances | Koehler Law
DC Drug Possession with Intent Charge - Drug Distribution DC | Washington DC Criminal Defense Lawyer

Youtube of news said there was a typo on court documents, so Molly will stay another night in jail and return to court later today (Jan 30). Reporter said Molly was in chains and crying.
