Student got arrested in a major drug bust at Gallaudet University

I don't believe anyone has said 18 and 19yos are not adults. I am not sure why you are bringing that up.

There are some people believe that 18 and 19 are not adult - different philosophy.

Now this part is very interesting. Are you sure about this? Not trying to be rude. Just curious.

Yes, I did know about students broke the drug policies.

Gally use point system as penalty for breaking the drug policies, so drug dealing is one of most serious.

I don't believe anyone has said that here. I know I haven't. I'm not even sure why we are discussing it. Let's just move on.

Cool. That is awesome that they have a policy. But did they really handle people selling drugs in house rather than going through the court system?

I'm not saying that you believe that 18 and 19 are not adult, so I never did it.

I'm just telling about there are people with different philosophy believe like that, so that's NOT about you.

Good example: Mississippi - the adult age is 21.

Yes, they are required to do it by federal/DC law, however sometime, DPS could call MPD if there are serious or beyond to their control.

Sorry, I am not understanding what you are saying. What is it that the school is required to do by law? Not trying to be difficult.

Gallaudet University has to set the drug policies and handle the situation that related to drugs (the code of conduct office), so it is ordered by federal/DC law. The MPD is usually reserved for serious situation, beyond to their control.

When I got busted for smoking pot in the dorms...

:laugh2:

Talk about losing credibility in a hurry but I was like 19 or something. L-O-L! Anyway... when I got busted for smoking pot, they fined the person who was living in that room $150. This was after MSSD so I was a technically "visitor" at the time and they wrote me up but that was about it.

This is selling though. I can't imagine Gallaudet being privileged to handle that in-house.

I understood that part. But as for the question in post #366. Are you sure they handled people selling drugs this way too? They handled drug dealers through the code of conduct rather than referring it to police? Not trying to harass you. Trying to make sure I am clear on this. Thanks.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I doubt police would even come out for smoking pot. But selling?

Yes, depends on severity and that what CRE/RA told me about it.

The handling with drug violation in code of conduct is private matter so you won't know about them, so RA/CRE knows that.

You are wise enough to stay out of the debates most of the time, that is why you missed it.

But yeah, Jiro has been consistent in the "Legalize, tax, end drug war" stance for years.

ya over the years i got wiser, and know when to jump in, or leave, got nothing to with 'if id lose i'd back off", its more, I dont care, or dont have time to debate on everything i have more important real-life research to attend and real life duties around house and pets, I have responsibilities, unlike some, spend their time away from All-Deaf they're playing video games, or riding toy motorcycles none of the real cooking, or real life matters. and when debates get side tracked into nit-picking i stay out of it completele where possible because, tis a mind-fuck thing, its not really arguing with real people (yet you are arguing), but it riobs tolerance and possible freindships. I have refrained from that sort of squibble for a bit more than recently...

ok cheers

Wow! That is amazing.

The drug dealing (no matter about how is small or large) will totally ruin the life, no doubt because you will lose the financial aid, so make return to Gallaudet after suspension as extremely difficult and you have to work to collect the money to pay for education.

My friend went to Gallaudet in 1996 and got suspended for drug-related violation, so he didn't return until 10 years later when new VR agreed to pay rest of school expenses since federal won't cover anything.

The drug dealing is ridiculous and risky, despite about money, even there are some mindless young people willing to trafficking the drug from country to other country for a lot of money, but greater risk - jail with NO TRIAL and it means you will be in jail for indefinite times - no trial, no court. We need to growing more jobs to keep young people employed instead of worry about drugs.

Molly's case is most serious and her life is already ruined.

Wirelessly posted

Really? Mmm Okaayy....... But.....I was referring to your previous post about no teens in dorms. I was stating that it does not matter what age they are... it is still wrong.

See my post above about my stance with drug dealing.

I am amazed that the school handles things that way. I had no idea.
