Student got arrested in a major drug bust at Gallaudet University

There are some people believe that 18 and 19 are not adult - different philosophy.

they were a time when there was so such thing as a childhood....now thats just philosophically even harder to grasp, in those times 18-19 is just 'middle ages' because at that time, the average lifespan was 30...

Oh wow, your face is monster. :Ohno:

I just had a conversation with the reporter. She confirmed that court papers said 700 pills. She said that the 100 number came from a graphic that was provided but later corrected. But the actual figure listed in the report was 700.

I've known about the 700 number from the outset of this case as a friend of this perp videoed about it at another site that I lurk in.....

Very sad. Gally has such a rich tradition. I hate seeing stuff like this continuing to happen.

Then Molly can go fuck herself.

*sigh*

I will still hold out hope that it isn't true.

And you should. This only confirms the report. We have followed enough cases here on AD to know that things can change. Regardless, I hope her life turns around.

I worked in the pharmacy here in California for 20 years. Most states have different laws regarding filling controlled substances. Here in California under Medical a patient gets a 90 days supply on ANY med that is on their formulary. There are many patients with severe chronic pain or other conditions that do get large amounts of narcotics. Medical allows only 9 prescriptions per month and anything over that requires a TAR, a special request to fill more thrn 9 prescriptions. Many, many patients take more then the nine so Medical wants and requests a 90 day supply.

If you have private insurance most if not all in my state will only allow a 30 day supply. So if a patient had a prescription for lets say Vicodin take 1-2 tabs every 4hr, the doctor could write for a quantity of #240 pills.

Some meds do have a restriction and those can still be filled but your insurance requires a prior auth from your doctor with a diagnosis etc.

Insurance companies computers are nationwide. So if you came to my pharmacy and we billed your insurance for Vicodin then you took another prescription to another pharmacy in another city, even a different doctor it will reject the claim for "refill too soon".

If someone comes in with a large quantity for like Vicodin we ALWAYS call the doctors office to verify.

I worked closely with the DEA and did numerous drug busts at my pharmacy. It took awhile to catch some, but we did. One was a nurse who would call in codine cough medicine under a childs name. I busted her along with the DEA officer.

The best bust I ever took part of was on a women who was totally doctor shopping. I finally had time one day and called around to all the local and not so local pharmacies. OMG she had twenty different doctors and a stolen prescription pad. She had no insurance and paid cash. DEA was with me in the pharmacy, police had given us a walkie talkie. I was nervous because this was a big one. They followed her from her home and she actually stopped at church on her way to me. My tech sold her the prescription and the cops came up behind her and she was finally arrested. Sad part she had two kids with her.

Sorry this went a little off topic but this is one of the few threads where I actually know my stuff :)

Feel free to ask me any questions.

I took narcotic pills for severe pain due to kidney stone and elbow surgery, so I didn't receive a comfortable relief from Lortab and very, very strong nausea, feel VERY VERY LOUSY and made my stomach so irritated. I got bad result with Lortab and classified as allergic, so it is one of worst drug ever. I took Percocet for kidney stone and it wasn't bad medicine to kill the pain, but cause sleepy and constipation (bloated, a lot of gas and pain), so laxative pills failed to relieve and I had to drank the full bottle of mag citrate, so stools went BOMBED into toilet.

I'm very hesitate to take narcotic pills because of too many side effects, so same goes with antidepressant drugs.

Vicodin has 500mg of Tylenol in each tablet. This is a big concern for doctors and pharmacists and should be for patients too. Doctors usually require blood work every three months to make sure the Tylenol is not causing issues with ones liver.

Oh wow, yes, that's very scary, I had bad liver pain few times in past, but it wasn't chronic.

I remember being about 15 or 16 after my shoulder surgery... I took way too many vicodin in a short period... my eyes started turning yellow. Freaky for sure.

Yes, most people don't know this. Unfortunately I have a serious chronic pain issue plus recently broke my leg at the knee cap. I am the one telling my doctor I don't want to take that much tylenol. For severe long term pain best to go with different types of pain meds.

Yup, some people even offer to pay cash once their claim been rejected (refill too soon) If it is a controlled or a medication that can be abused such as tramadol we refuse it an do not allow cash sale. If they can prove that they need it early for whatever reason our Pharmacist usually allow them to doso once.

What state are you a Pharm-D in? edited...seen that you posted California..
