Palin to Obama: 'Do your job, secure our border'

2,000 miles of United States of America and Mexico are difficult to secure, in my opinion, do Obama's job, secure our border won't solve the problem by overnight or even a decade of years but we are still improving and more joint missions with the Mexican federal police and military by intelligence, training, and supplies. That's a good thing, isn't it????

I personally have seen a battalion of Mexican Army using the 100% American-made vehicles, helicopters, weapons, and kevlars, believe me on this!

:gpost:

"Not only do we have an obligation to secure our borders, we have a responsibility to do so in the most cost-effective way possible," Napolitano said. "The system of sensors and cameras along the Southwest border known as SBInet has been plagued with cost overruns and missed deadlines."

I don't think we ought to continue spending on program that will not work. After all.... seeing what happened with war spending in Iraq and Afghanistan... yep this is justified.

i agreed!!

reallllyyyyyyy? what a change in your tune!

no such thing is condoned by federal government but it's hypocritical of Palin to wag her finger at Obama when her state is in business of providing sanctuary to illegal aliens.

and you, Steinhauser - your state has one city that does "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy but they're about to remove it soon. Therefore, your state is not a hypocrite but Palin and her state are.

My state deports illegals .....

KSU Statement on Colotl Case

unfortunately - Jessica Colotl has not been deported yet... and your state is not legally allowed to deport the illegals. Only federal government is allowed to do so. That means I.C.E. will have to come and pick her up to deport her.

The state, however, is allowed to charge her with a felony. i.e. giving false information to a police officer.

20 years in prison.

Which would you rather see happen?

You know ... rumor has it that there are Universities in Mexico for Mexican nationals.

20 years? for lying? c'mon. we're not a fascist country.

While driving without a license is a relatively minor offense, making a false statement is a felony with a maximum punishment of five years in prison and a $1,000 fine.

Which would you rather see happen?
Legally - get the F outta my country.

God bless America for leaving a case-by-case discretion up to officer-judge-district attorney-etc. What I prefer is that she be given a reprieve because since she's already came this far (at our expense) and is now an educated person with 3.8 GPA who will most likely get a good-paying career in USA... that means she will be paying back into system via income tax and state tax. This also means - she will have an ability to pay a hefty penalty for being in this country illegally.

But hey - I'm just seeing it in a cost-benefit way.

So basically some pols in Washington are dragging their feet on funding this new "fence" that was timetabled to be in place in 5 years.

As for Palin stating "Do your job, secure our border"...meh...that's not completely out of context, but she's definitely galvanizing her supporters by saying that. And in an election year, that's a goldmine strike.

Where are those "minute men?"

"Easy" fix then, just jump-start the program with a few extra bucks (more like 2 billion) and the issue is over. Oh wait. Here comes the Tea Party: "We're overtaxed."

Whom should leave "your" country? The illegals or the law abiding citizens of the U.S.?

Now remember, illegals are the ones breaking the law and doing things "illegally".

Also, you may not know this, Colotl had no intention of staying in the U.S. to begin with. She wanted to graduate and move to Mexico and practice law there. She was here for the free education. She entered the US illegally .... twice.

Suppose you are eligible for a scholarship, but got turned down. Suppose that scholarship went to an illegal. Suppose you could not enroll in a class because an illegal took your place.

Suppose your married and your wife is pregnant. Suppose an illegal driving without a DL or insurance wrecks into your pregnant wife, killing your wife and unborn child. Suppose that illegal has a 3.8 GPA ... would you be for or against deporting the illegal?

Which crimes do you consider to be "severe" enough before they are enforced?

illegals and Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Republican Party, and Democratic Party :)

right.

well then get the F outta my country.

never happened to me. :dunno: but then... suppose I could not enroll in a class because some dumbass American took my place who has no intention in passing this course.

what's the point? suppose it's a drunk driving on suspended license. suppose it's a sleepy driver. suppose it's a drunk Governor of NJ. suppose it's a young foolish teen with lead foot. illegal or not, my wife and unborn child are dead.

for illegals who got caught - get the F outta my country.

and the other driver cannot offer a settlement (no insurance, should not have been on the road, officer suspected they were illegal but was afraid to intervene due to being charged with racial profiling ... etc.)

There are ways to catch them. Let the people who know how do their job.

there are already ways to catch them. The officer may inquire about immigration status AFTER the arrest. Driving without insurance is an ARRESTABLE offense. Driving without license is an ARRESTABLE offense.

That's why Jessica Colotl was discovered as illegal alien and was turned over to I.C.E...... all this without law like Arizona's immigration law.

The KSU security officer (not LEO) asked to see her Driver's License. She was not arrested, she was let go and told to bring her license to the KSU security office the next day. She was on the College Campus (private property). She was caught by a rent-a-cop.

Driver's License is super secret code for "citizen papers" to the uninitiated.

they were enforcing the same Federal Law that Arizona recently passed. And the same exact law that California passed in 2001.

Its the same friggin law. Before Arizona passed their law, the LEO's were NOT ALLOWED TO INQUIRE ABOUT CITIZENSHIP STATUS.

Now they can. Georgia LEO's are allowed to inquire about legal citizenship status and do so liberally.

yes they can. You're confusing the difference. Currently - the LEOs are NOT required to inquire about citizenship status. With this immigration law - the LEOs are REQUIRED to inquire.

Now they can. Georgia LEO's are allowed to inquire about legal citizenship status and do so liberally.
now? no - they can and they always have before.
