Then Palin should shut up because she didnt speak out against the other presidents as far as I know.

Yet that doesn't mean we should ignore the issue of them not doing their job.

If Obama does do it...will he get applause from your anti-Obama crowd? :hmm:

and Alaska is too far away from Mexico and drug cartel infested area.

it does not always have to do with Hispanic people. The illegal aliens from Asia, Russia, Iran, etc. can transport thru it. Terrorists, Drug Smuggling, illegal hunters, etc.

just one of few examples -

Illegal Immigration: Threat to Hunting and Fishing
Posted by Jim Durkin on May 11 2005
As many of you already know, more and more people come into this country legally and illegally every year. Immigration is a major threat to our tradition of hunting and fishing. Why? As a result increased immigration, this country is losing wildlife habitat at an alarming rate due to development. We have to stop illegal immigration and reduce legal immigration if we want to preserve wild places for our children and their children.

Please read and sign this petition. Go to Petition: Leave E-Verify Amendments in Homeland Security Bill and sign the 'Secure Our Borders' petition that Bill O'Reilly mentioned on his show last night. Alert everyone in your mailing lists.

Thanks.

beside..... Palin's stance on illegal immigration during McCain-Palin campaign

an excerpt from the interview was aired during "Al Punto", Univision's political TV show
Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska?
I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question.

As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

And the last question would be about politics. You only have two more weeks left...
Yes

What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote?
I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.

Thank you so much. It would be impossible to ask you to say a few words in Spanish, right?
Oh my good-well, I don't want to embarrass myself, but … but gracias and I do thank you so much for this opportunity. I appreciate it.

Thank you, muchas gracias, thank you.

gotta save it to my comp. love this one.

He'll probably get the votes to win 2012. But what are the odds of him actually doing it? Probably close to zero.

Oh, u got a crystal ball? Can I borrow it?I need to make some decisons so it would reallllly help!

No crystal ball. Public sentiments favor the securing of our border. That is, among the legal citizens who can vote.

both.

1. Arizona is not doing it right to enforce the federal immigration law
2. Palin's state has a state-wide issuance that forbids the use of state resources to enforce federal immigration law
3. if you're gonna wag your finger at someone, make sure your background backs you up
4. there is other way to enforce the federal immigration law.... like putting all the resource on prosecuting employers/corporations in your own state instead of alienating your own residents just to find some petty illegal aliens. Cost Benefit wise? I think not.
I couldn't find any information about the state-wide issuance outside that little footnote in the article. If it was there before Palin came in, I still don't see why she spend time and capital worrying about it unless the illegal immigration problem in her state was a huge problem (which I have my doubt considering the distance between the southern border and Alaska). Even if Palin herself made the issuance, I still don't see the hypocrisy. That law basically says let the feds enforce their own law. What's she saying now? "Enforce your law, feds!" Nobody likes that the states have to resort to doing something themselves because the federal government is in dereliction of duty.

Then Palin should shut up because she didnt speak out against the other presidents as far as I know.
And there in lies the rub. Before the 2008 election, she was an unknown. For all you know, she could have spoken out against it. Even if she didn't, that still doesn't matter because she was in a very different role as governor of a non-border state than she is today. As for today, why should she rail on the guy who's no longer President and has no power?

Do you prefer to have all Republicans/conservatives in congress, both of house and senate, even no democrats or other parties?

Darn it...I really could use one right now.

Let's secure our border...let's all get together and build a wall like the Great Wall in China or the Berlin Wall. Whatever works..I dont care. Let's end the finger-pointing for poltical gain. It gets sooo old. (I am referring to Palin)

here - Sarah Palin on Immigration

Took no action on Alaska’s “sanctuary cities”
Lou Dobbs notes that at least two of Alaska’s cities have been officially designated as sanctuary cities: “An August 14, 2006 report produced by the Congressional Research Service listed 31 cities and counties that have ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ sanctuary policies in place. They [include] Anchorage, Alaska [and] Fairbanks, Alaska. Alaska and Oregon both have state-wide policies that forbid state agencies from using resources to enforce federal immigration law.”

Apparently, this is by design from the highest levels. In fact, a resolution to that effect was passed in the Alaska state legislature in 2003 (before Palin’s election): “[Alaska] House Joint Resolution 22--May 2003: Establishes that state agencies and instrumentalities may not use state resources or institutions for the enforcement of federal immigration laws, which are the responsibility of the federal government.”

It’s not clear whether Gov. Palin has ever weighed in, pro or con, on Alaska’s sanctuary policies.

Did she speak about immigration reform when she was campaigning for Vice Presidency? Curious..

Thank you. So there we go- she didn't pass it and we don't know if she supported it or not, but either way, it's irrelevant. She thinks the feds should enforce their law and she's saying so now.

By the way, I don't agree with that "pathway to citizenship" stuff for illegal immigrants, but she didn't say anything in that interview that contradicts her message now.

Not a Bush fan......But at least the fence was going up under Bush. It was the O admin that stopped the fence.

Source, please.

I 2nd that request...curious too.

Of course, I'm assuming that some of you think that a fence (all along the border) will keep immigrants and terrorists out? At least, it's the best chance of reducing the illegal immigrant population?

I think one part that could help would be to inform American people that using illicit drugs, especially the kind of drugs that spark volatility in Mexico increases the cost/benefit ratio decision that a immigrant might make. Any thoughts?

Let me see...

Protect border
- death to meet
- cost too much
- human rights look ugly

Illegal Immigrant Bill
- no jobs for immigrant, tough luck
- police bitching on us
- Drug manufacturing kidnap them as cheap labor
