One night stand

Interesting...it seems that women and men have different views of what is a one night stand...

It should be made clear that there is no such thing as safe casual sex. You can take precautions to reduce the risks, but it's not a 100% guarantee. Especially if it's with total strangers.

It may be fun, but it won't be fun if you end up with gonorrhoea. Just saying.

My whole life, I've always defined the term as having casual sex with strangers. If you have casual sex with someone you know, I would consider that to be friends with benefits.

That is why it creeps me out.

I used to be wild ... but never that wild. I never had a one night stand.

I mean .... (a long time ago) me and my x-gf woke up nude in the middle of a field in a National Park - a jogger woke us up. That kind of wild. After we woke up it was a mad dash to find our clothes and split.

When in doubt, use the vibrator. I guess that's a hand stand?

That! (in ASL)

Then the following day, your brother introduces his girlfriend to you... and guess who it is?

Awkward!

That was funny.

I've gotten a few good laughs out of this thread.

Okay, defined that way, I've never had a one night stand, but friends with benefits. :giggle:

That is what a one night stand is. Having sex with someone you don't know. Having sex with a friend is entirely different.

Ok..then, that means I never had one. I cant have sex with someone I just met. I would be too uncomfortable and paranoid so that wouldnt be too exciting.

I guess I am like DeafBadger...had one-time benefits with friends. :dunno:

I'm disappointed. One night stands sound way more cooler than friends w benefits. Poor me.

Enter alcohol. In copious quantities.

I'm disappointed with all character judgements in this thread. How you can call person promiscuous, slut, creepy based on one one-night-stand? Might embarrass myself totally here, but I had one night stand night I made this thread (possible this already obvious). It brings my lifetime total sexual partners up to 2. Promiscuous? I don't think so. So easy judge when you don't know whole story. Yes, alcohol helped make less-than-magical night possible. Does this mean alcohol or sluttish behaviour problematic? No. Biggest contributing factor was break-up with Dallas, after 7 years together (since age 13)...heartbroken...think thus make that pain less...so wrong. Character judgements help? Not at all.

They happen and sometimes relationships do start from them, it's not a bad thing. I think in most cases it is not planned and usually there is intention to start a relationship, but things don't always turn out that way.

You should always be careful and protect yourself, it doesn't matter if it is a one night stand or a relationship.

That was not obvious at all. It looked like you were thinking about having one, not that you already did.

And people have different views on it, and you got to find out. If you had made it clear that you had done this, I think people would have been gentler and more sympathetic.

You should not care what anyone here thinks anyway. It's only relevant to you and Dallas.

Well it was after the initial post. But you're right, should not care. Just be too sensitive I guess.
