okay ad'ers. ask me anything (but be nice! :))

LOL, i wish i could just go off it. Geez, they need to make ways to just implant you with the hormones your body dosent make so you dont have to take pills and get fat. The last time i went off pills i ended up in the E.R.

oh, that doesn't sound good, but i know what you mean about being sick and tired of meds. i take 7 of them (4 for my bipolar -- soon to be 5, 2 for my migraines and 1 for my allergies) and i wish there was a day i didn't have to take any of them...

i know, im supposed to be on 4 but i only take 2... shhh... 1 is for hypothyroid, one for lack of pituitary, and 2 are for asthma... when i feel good i dont take those two... shhhhh.

hhmmm a question - at home... do you have a weight scale that talks?

i won't tell if you don't tell. when i've felt really good at the beginning of a manic episode, i've been guilty of not taking my bipolar meds. don't tell my psychiatrist though. i ended up crashing and learned my lesson! now i'm *always* med-compliant (even though i wish i didn't have to take them).

Lips are sealed. I know, I would rather take a shot with no side effects, than the pills and inhalers. I am so tired of taking the crap, ohh, i forgot about 1, make that 5, im supposed to be on... but no way in hell will i go back on growth hormones. No way in hell.

by the way, typeingtornado, my nephew used to have asthma when he was a child, but he grew out of it. do your doctors think the same thing will happen to you? i know some people grow out of asthma as they get older, but i also know this doesn't happen to everyone.

No, actually i got a lecture from my dr. at my physical because it was july, and my asthma is always worse in summer, and i didnt take my inhaler... I didnt even have my rescue inhaler with me... who brings theirs to the dr... not when they have samples!

i know what you mean. i really paid the price for not taking my bipolar meds. i "crashed" hard and experienced side effects just like i did when i started taking the meds. a mood stabilizer and antipsychotic i'm on cause drowsiness and nightmares. not fun!

I know, i stopped my hypothyroid med, and pituitary med, for like 6 months, *when i ended up in the E.R.* i started them again, and it was bad.

It's all good, at least while i was there they gave me a nice shot... yummm, not taking them gave me a migraine from hell, that lasted like a month, and they gave me the most wonderful shot...

you had a migraine for a month? ugh! i can see why you were finally glad to get that vaccination!

i can't stand getting shots. (at least i can't see the needle!)

Do they tell you the moment before the shot's coming?

Do they tell you the moment before the shot's coming?

yes they do because i always ask them to. the nurses in my doctor's office have known me long enough to realize that if they don't, i have a startle response which causes them to administer the shot again.

having said that, when i was hospitalized 2 years ago for my bipolar, i was given two separate injections of antipsychotics in my hip. the first time i was restrained by hospital staff (because i was manic, irritable and extremely combative) before being given the injection and the second time a nurse came to my bed, pulled down the covers and gave me the shot without warning. needless to say, i was *not* happy.

that's exactly how it feels. i washed my eyes, so that's not the problem because they still hurt alot. i wish i knew what was causing this...

I should have asked you much earlier. Is it one eye or both eyes? And how are you eyes feeling this morning?

by the way, he looked at my eyes tonight and said they are red and puffy but there is nothing in them. he thinks i'm having trouble with my allergies. at any rate, i'll be calling my opthalmologist tomorrow morning to find out what's really going on.

It could also be conjunctivitis. Let us know what your ophthalmologist says. <hopes you feel better>
