Obama supporters?

Do not want what? Private insurance or Medicare? Anyone who works has Medicare contributions taken out of their paycheck as taxes, so they have already paid for it when they were working.

As for non-related people, I don't know their personals so I can't answer that. Those goes for my family too. All I know what they told me before...

Everyone needs health care at some point in their life.

Some are very stubborn and refuse to accept the hospital's kind of cureness and prefer the Chinese's kind of cureness, or even the Tribal's kind of cureness.

Is it fair for me to have taxes taken out of my check every 2 weeks to pay for Medicare/Medicaid benefits for someone else, and not be able to receive health care myself?

You could've got a Medicare.

That's the whole point. You are willing for the government to step in an provide you with health care when you can't afford it.

Well I said that if I was very rich and are independence from the governments.

Universal health care would provide access to alternative forms of medicine, as well.

No, I can't. I don't qualify. I work 2 jobs, neither one of which provides insurance benefits. I make too much to qualify for Medicare/Medicaid, and I don;t make enough to pay $350.00 a month to purchase a self insured policy. That's the whole point. Yet my taxes go to provide health care for those who do qualify for Medicare/Medicaid.

Well I said that if I was very rich and are independence from the governments.

But that is just it. You aren't very rich and you aren't independent from the government. You rely on the government to make sure that you have basic neccessities. If you don't' want government involved, then you have to give up the benefits that the government is providing for you. No disrespect intended.

As well as those who don't want it nor those.

I personally think that's wrong, it should qualify you as since as you cannot afford for your own insurance.

Ohh wow.. Judge me in the first place.. I've worked so hard to be independence from my parents, trying to stop them helping and control my money and my life so much, since I was 14 years old and solved that, I meant whole entire of that situation, just recently last May. All I thought about is "Whoa how much I've worked so hard for my own choices" and then I look at myself, I was still depending on the government so I've tried so hard to research about the farm career, so I am go for it. I will try my best to get off the government's dependence favorites. ;)

Nothing personal.

Me so stubborn? I was just sharing my opinions and some of my questions here, so there's nothing I can be sort of stubborn nor being nosy around the debate threads. Respect my rights, thank you. Oh didn't we learn the Liberty! :eek3:

So I'd favor for me to be leave alone as Libertarian. :ty:

Stubborn? Yep.

But hey, if you want to resist change, that's your problem.

I have a problem with people who resist change on a national level. I think it's far to label McCain voters as such.

Respectfully disagreed.

I knew a few members of my friend's family do not want it because they are quite heathy and fine. One is an elder, only 70-80's of the age, who has not many illnesses... :dunno:

And when they get sick, who are they going to blame? Themselves or their (lack of) health insurance?

My grandmother had a hip replacement and has several medications that she requires to get by on a day-by-day basis. Without such, she wouldn't be able to enjoy the quality of life she has now. As someone who survived the Great Depression, I'm sure she's thankful to get ANY help.

My point being, you cannot count on your good health to last forever. You could be stricken one day and be stuck up shit creek without a paddle.

I'm not judging you at all, PuyoPiyo. I'm just saying that no one can be willing to take assistance from the government to make sure their needs are met, and at the same time tell the government to butt out. If the government butts out, those who are getting help now will loose it. But with a universal health care system, you won't loose anything, and many, many more will have benefits as well.

Nothing personal.

Not taken personal.

With the current trends in aging, chances are great that we will all experience catastrophic illness at some point in our lives.

But you can't expect someone else to be the same as you.

Okay, that's your opinion, but I have my own opinion. We have different POV, I guess :)

That's the whole point. You are willing for the government to step in and provide you with health care when you can't afford it. If you take advantage of being able to qualify for free health care from the government, how can you deny anyone else the right to the same?

That's a really good question. I think those that do get healthcare from the government should really pay attention to what they are saying/doing.

It seems to me like there's a double standard in place where if you don't work at all, you are entitled to free health care or Medicaid or whatever the hell it's called.

I fully expect such a thing because of my life choices. That's why I wish I had insurance that would cover that crap until I can learn how to take care of myself better.

Life itself is a learning process. You don't start out knowing everything and you certainly will not learn everything, because there's no time to do such.

Re-read my reply to Jillio, SSI is actually helping my goal to be a farmer career so I can feed some of thousands of people.

Bond font - I already got mine. I'd mentioned a post from above here. Of course, I could not - that's why I want it for in a case.

Rest of your comment, you entitled on your opinion. I have nothing left to say.

It is a double standard. If they were unable to qualify for government subsidized health care, they would be the first to say that it is the government's responsibility to provide it.

Yeppers.

You don't need SSI to get anywhere in life.

I just feel like you are taking advantage of the government (and taxpayers) while advocating a double standard for those who do not do such a thing.

Exactly. Otherwise, why not do away with SSI or Medicaid?

I don't want to pay taxes just so someone who's perfectly able to work, can collect money out of their own unwillingness to find work.

Wonderful answer, very neutral response! :)

That's my point. If I had the money being taken out of my check every 2 weeks to pay for someone else's health care in my pocket, then I could most likely afford to pay for my own health care. Instead, I do without to provide for someone else. Universal health care would correct that inequity.
