Obama-McCain Debate Part I

So, whichever candidate talks the most about "the middle class" will be the better President? Or does it mean the one who talks the most about "the middle class" is just a better campaigner and speech maker? :hmm:

Don't forget that talk is cheap, and action is costly.

So true and there is also "all talk--no action" too.

Probably, they are wasting our time. Do you think that they are making their promises when one of them to become the U.S. president? Maybe, two out of 100 promises in the first term.

He has made it clear from the beginning of his campaign that his concern is not with the largest portion of the population of this country, but with the wealthy.

McCain was born in a wealthy family. Obama was not, so he has to understand.

I am curious what Palin and Biden have to say.

Me, too. I am looking forward to the VP debate on Thursday.

I am surprised not once did anyone remark how McCain completely avoided eye contact while Obama looked at him directly. He blinked many times on certain topics.

If a person cannot have an eye contact when making a deal, then how the hell do we expect a president to lead?

Also, McCain had repeatedly said that Obama is naive for going for discussions with enemies saying it's "dangerous." Well, you see, that's where Obama is the reason why I want to vote for. If you CANNOT sit down and discuss with your enemy, then I don't trust you to handle foreign policy, period. Discussing with an enemy is NOT caving in or giving them what they want, but rather to tell them your stand and how you expect them to change to meet the conditions.

Um, no. Voters should follow their heads, not their hearts. Voters are selecting a President to lead their country, not a date for the prom.

:laugh2:

LOL, I did notice that. I just didn't know if there was anything to talk about that. Maybe I thought it was being overly critical to mention that, but it's true that I noticed that very much.

I also noticed Obama with the man that was leading the debate. He told him "good job" and looked at him. The man seemed surprised that he said that. I know if I were him, I'd feel good about myself.

McCain blinks a lot. I don't know why some people blink a lot that you notice it so much. I noticed McCain was smiling a lot like he knew better than Obama. I think smiling like that makes me feel a turned off in some way about him.

Well Hun, when Obama was a senate in the state of Illinois I believe 8 years.. :dunno: , he did helped working families get ahead by creating programs "Earned income tax Credit" he did took action, and he is continuing his fight for middle class families, What had McClain done for those middle class families? I'm just surprised he didn't mention about it, It makes me think he's with the wealth and not with the middle class families.

Interesting observation...:hmm:

I have to agree with you on that one. My husband said both of them are full of BS but have to go with the one that makes the most sense. His point of view...:hmm:

Yeah, Liza and I discussed (maybe a different thread :dunno2:) the body language and facial expressions of both candidates. It was very telling, wasn't it?

Ahh the effective communicator vs. the ineffective communicator.

Let's see who is the effective and ineffective communicator in the VP debate. I am curious about that one.

I think we already know the answer to that one but it will be interesting to see.

Since McCain is already retracting Palin's statements (see the new thread I created in Current Events) it is becoming quite obvious.
