Legal Showdown - Arizona's Immigration Law

Too late, the health care bill will soon help speed things up and break the budget, and money spent on health care will make money spent on those wars look like chump change.

I'll believe that when it happens because that is a hilarious exaggeration. Nothing trumped our war spending. Even China's war spending didn't even come close to that. BTW - China = 2nd largest in terms of military expenditure spending.

15 major spender countries in 2008 (Military Expenditure)
USA = $607 billion
China = $84.9 billion
France = $65.7 billion

a chump change? I don't think so. you forget the fact that we're spending $607 billion in ONE year.... whereas - we're going to spend over $900 billion in Obamacare for over 10 years.

Can always hold them on probitation (limited shifts) 'til their background checks out.

Works for us.

exactly. criminal background check too - regardless of skin color.

I think it was off-topic but nevermind.

Let you handle this thread because it is your thread, my bad.

You're right. National security takes priority over everything else. In fact, that's the president's first duty in office.

it always does. that's why our National Security has the biggest and fattest budget that makes entire world's budget a chump change.

and yet.... these states are whining that it's not good enough? talk about gimmi gimmi gimmi

you are doing fine. don't worry. Arizona will soon see that they will be spending the money they do not have for this silly immigration law.

Let us hope that other states don't repeat Arizona's mistake.

Exactly, it's not the government's or IRS's fault for employers' lack of self-accountability when they don't place their new employees on prohibition.

yup.

"oops! I'm sorry I didn't know because he had these documents!!" - sorry but it's employer's fault for contributing to our illegal immigration problem. All it takes is few bucks to run the criminal background check and other stuff. Better that than paying $$$$$$$$ to illegals for several months who will just disappear upon discovery by IRS notification to employer.

Arizona is about to repeat Virginia's mistake.

Now I feel like I should read up on VA politics as I moved back to VA a year and half ago. I'm a little out of the loop. I'll do a bit of catching up on VA politics.

Anyway, let's hope that other states don't follow AZ and VA.

Oh you're referring to Prince George County? That's not the whole state of VA. However, I agree that was a mistake. I dunno about current Prince County demographics but 15 years ago, it was a mostly middle class county and most of the people there were black..

The last time I was in DC, I was surprised at all the Indians there. When I used to go to school there, it had a considerable Latino population. How fast things change.

Well I'm one of the 70% and do live in Arizona. Some have said we do not need the law as illegals have been on the decline last few years? Wonder why? Don't suppose it has anything to do with Sheriff Joe do you? All you folks with so much to say about our law and the way we would like to see things in our state, Would you please send your money so we can support your ideas. Right now it seems to be costing us about 2 billion a year. In case you wonder, illegals do not pay the taxes that are paid by the legals. Yes they do pay some sales tax but that is about it. Also would you please give some good thought about coming over here to live and settle down by the border. Just bring some money as there are some real good buys for land and homes along the border. O and by the way, many of the illegals are leaving our state now just with the law as it now stands even with the possibility of maybe being overturned. It has already done some good. As to profiling, I think we have to look where there is a chance that we might find something. If its profiling so be it. unfortunate but we do not live in a perfect world and anytime we get two or more people together we have disagreements. Right now I just want to see the "Sun's" continue their roll.

False, health care reform isn't socialism because of involvement with private health insurance with regulation.

It doesn't make me so happy because I want government-run health care, however new health care reform is better than nothing with filled in emergency room that caused hospital to losing the money. It isn't totally solution, even conservative backed health care reform is no solution too.

We are getting OFF-TOPIC and did you read all of Jiro's post because he WANTS us to discuss about legal issue with AZ immigrant bill, not about health care. :topic:

Take this off-topic to other thread or PM me so don't be scare to PM me, I won't bite you.

I guess you haven't heard.
AT&T, Verizon, others, thought about dropping health plans - May. 5, 2010

because they chose to be greedy and dumber.

It's about keeping the company afloat. If the fed govt is willing to pay for health care, let 'em. Companies find it cheaper to pay the fines. This is exactly what the govt was planning on.

It is just greedy and dirty corporation. :roll:

It's about keeping the jobs going. It's about expanding to add more jobs with the money available. The govt isn't helping this.

Yup it's those nasty old business. They are all the problems. Guess maybe we better go ask the guy standing on the corner for a job. Maybe ask government for a job? Let's see, we can find a job to regulate something I'm sure. Can someone please tell me something that governments produce? O' yes they now produce cars at government motors. Are they in the farming business? Humm just what are they in that is contributing to society? other than regulation. Not saying we don't need some regulation but there is a limit.

If they can just do their job and protect our borders and national security. They are failing at that.
