And since when did they fail a vehicle for an auto trans fluid change? BS !
I didnt even bother reading all that, apparently you havent heard of hollowed out cats either.
you cant see it, you cant tell the cats are hallowed out, you cant see emmissions either, so a trooper cant nail you for it, more false info...
They can get you for excessive noise, I dont even have a muffler and it passes, its quiet, it doesnt smell or burn your eyes... and it passes all legal inspections legally. Think Im BSing you? Only thing that failed was a crack windshield I had replaced.
You must heavy smokers.
It is rare for me to find drivers with excessive smog (a lot of white or black smoking) in my state and state troopers did good job to catch any drivers with car issues.
No wonder about St. Louis metro has mandatory emission inspection, but NONE in my state, also air quality is good as well.
Thats why there are accidents that are preventable.
Then dont, Ive no problem and youve nothing to worry about, no go outside and get you some fresh smog.
None of my vehicles have ever smoked... key is properly tuned, not neglected. You got alot to learn, youll be amazed what those BOOKS dont teach you.
Fox, I agree with you on certain cars, it doesnt matter old/new cars... Ive been behind and next to the ones that will gag you and burn your eyes and it pisses me off they run it like that ( all they need is simple adjustments to lean down and burn more thouroghly ) Hell you could breath out of my tailpipe if it wasnt for the carbon monoxcide that all vehicles produce. I stand with you on that, but as far as emissions, the model A ford ran cleaner than any vehicles today and it was just that...a motor.
Oh interesting, I heard about carbon monoxide is odorless and can't smell.
Fox, Soco is right about emission inspection. The inspector just plugged in ODB outlet for emission, it must have no code(s). If it has code, inspection fails. What he mean is that there are people out there very cleverly designed a computer to fool ECM and have it ignore the code so it won't show up on ODB and able to pass emission inspection. You won't find it, maybe lucky if you find one in black market.
I also have removed Catalytic converter when I had F-250, I have no problem with inspection, they don't care and had gave me new inspection sticker no problem. I had done without muffler and passed inspection. They said my truck sounded like 18 wheelers, not too loud really.
Oh ok, our state doesn't have safety and emission inspection, also air quality in Birmingham metro isn't in yellow or red to trigger federal law to adopt emission inspection for surrounding counties, but Florida used to had emission inspection and discontinued in 2000 due to improved air quality.
Also, I use one car plate on rear.
No wonder about cheating in auto inspection, so that why I think auto inspection is waste of time and money.
How much you got MPG after removed CC? Why you sold it? Any problem with muffler that lead you to removed?
The number is rather small, it is not major secret going on. Not everybody doing illegally.
I have no problem with state safety inspection. I don't want to get accident from somebody that got bad brakes, you know. It is something nobody can fool. Very easy to have visual inspection for bad bearing, brakes, and all mechanical shyt. As for electronics, there will always be somebody out there figure out how to fool the electronics.

Hallowed cat converters are easy to detect by smell very foul raw gaseous exhaust, maybe the troopers in your area, are trained to sniff the hallowed cat converters. In Calif, they(hollowed cats) are often failing for high emission levels of HC, CO and NOx. Hallowed cats make the pre-OBDII vehicle runs better.
I learned from my family, especially my father and some friends about vehicles, but speaking about book, I just talked about legal studies that is different and has no relation to emission, except for EPA regulation on businesses.
For my experience, cars with no CC will have very small white smog, but not enough for state troopers to notice and they only pull over for excessive smog (really A LOT of black or white smoking that you can see on back).
For a lot of black or white smoking, it must be bad CC, bad engine, bad parts or any problems with car, but not without CC itself.
