They all are.
They all commited terrorist attacks against the State.
Tim McVeigh--we all know bombed the federal building in OKC. Eric Rudolph as the bomber of the Atlanta Olympics, Ted Kaczynski was known to sent bombs to universities and airlines which disrupts commerce, Rami Yousef was part of the WTC bombings and Aum Shinrikyo of Japan carried out the terrorist attacks on their subway system as well as started a religious cult.
So the above--we're all political acts.
A criminal commits an act against an individual.
Young men still have to register for the draft (Selective Service) but no one gets drafted now.I have thought about it before I wrote it on my post.
Were there a law that requires young people to register a military draft? No?
I think that's part of it. Terrorists do their dirty deeds for ideological reasons, whereas common criminals do their dirty deeds for material gain or personal gratification.Maybe because one is political and the other isn't?
a tv, laptop and a library??? what is this? the taj mahal? the only thing those prisoners ought to be surrounded by is brick and mortar.
I agree. They should just get the basics. No luxuries.
why don't you tell me the difference between terrorists and criminals.
you don't see the difference, dreama? it's obvious. terrorists will stop at *nothing* to kill others for the sake of jihad. criminals at least (some of them anyways) show remorse over the crimes they've committed. i've never seen a terrorist feel bad about the lives they've ended or the chaos they've created, have you?
Well a Serial killer kills lots of people. He is clasified as a criminal.
A terrorist also kills lots of people so he can also be clasified the same way.
That's why I was asking why the distinction?
the difference though is that criminals are usually caught whereas terrorists are not because they choose to blow themselves up.
I'm amazed how some of you disagree with Obama's decision for close Guantanamo Bay - concentration camp. I thought some of you would agree that torture should not be tolerated...?
Guantanamo has been an "embarrassment" to the USA in the past years that's why I Obama's decision to close Guantanamo Bay within a year.
Why does some of you seem to think that all the people in Guantanamo Bay are terrorists?
Does they have trial?
Have they been convicted?
What kind of evidence do we have against them?
How do you know they are terrorists? Most of them haven't even been charged with anything yet. Are they terrorists because the US government said so? Don't forget that same government said that Saddam had WMDs in Iraq? Oh yes, that same government once said that Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda were connect each other?
I do not against suspected terrorists being arrested and keep for few days until they have proof but it's not right to send muslims to disgusting camp for torture them for years until they confess guilty without legal trial.
I just read an article that talked about sendin' them to Europe. Wonderin' if they are goin' to take them in ?
What about China and Russia? They have torture as well.
I do not see anything that thread creator ask us for our opinion over China and Russia here but US president closed Guantanamo Bay. If we want to talk about China, Russia or East Germany (during communist time) in general way then create a new thread to aviod :topic: posts here, Don't you agree?
