No, you can't.

Not all states have stand your ground law, especially CA and if you do it so prison time for you.

Good luck if you do and I like to see you on media.

However, I don't think it is how stand your ground law works and once you confront at first place so you LOSE all rights, that it.

He can, he is a cop.

See his name? "Airportcop"

Airport cop? LOL.

He isn't city police officer, state officer or federal officer, except for policing around airport.

Stand your ground laws mean you have no duty to retreat from an attack.

That specific item is something I think a lot of people are confused with. You are not required to avoid a conflict.

The whole point of "stand your ground" is to not run away.

He has discussed this numerous times. Yes, he is a real police officer. Yes, he has worked at other agencies before the job he has now.

Well, once you START to confront and be armed so you lose the rights to self defense.

Nope - the right to self defense is never "lost".

Does this mean if I see someone stealing in a grocery store, and I go and tell them to put it back, that I have lost my right to defend myself if they decide to attack me?

Not that I would do that - I would report it to the store manager.

How? If he is airport cop so he is only limited to airport since he can't policing around city but just airport, that it.

No, that's not true and if you START to confront so it is your problem.

That is not true Foxrac. You can never lose your right to self defense.

When you say "confront" do you mean to start a fight with someone?

If that is the case, then that is an attack, not self defense. Zimmerman never attacked Trayvon according to the police report and eyewitnesses.

Jiro already explains to you and he owns firearm. He has much experience with gun law and you don't understand about start confront at first place will result in loss of self defense, especially for citizens, NOT police officers.

Good luck and go to Atlanta to find any suspicious person on road and start confront on your own so let us know. You will LOSE your rights to self defense.

Again, you aren't goddamn police officer and you don't have any authority to take care of suspicious person, except for them to be on your property or your car.

That's disgusted to see some gun owners think that they have same rights as police do and they can do whatever they want. Both of regular citizen and police are not same because it isn't regular citizen's responsible to take care of suspicious person and they have no authority to confront at suspicious person that's not on their property. That's just big misunderstood and mistake to do it.

It is none of my business about suspicious person whoever are not in my property, if it is concern me so I will call police, that it.

Hopefully Spike and others involved will be arrested anytime soon. They are more dangerous than Zimmerman and Trayvon.

And how was Trayvon dangerous?? He was being stalked by Zimmerman and the cops told him not to do that! When did carrying candy and soda become dangerous??

If he wasn't breaking the law and I am off duty then I would call 911 and be a good witness. Let me also add that if I was concerned enough about the situation I would stick around to see it through when the police arrived. I have done so on such things as DWIs, & people getting out of control in a restaurant or store. But then again I am a cop and I carry concealed and have been trained how to respond. If he is committing a violent crime then I will gladly step in even off duty. I am obligated to do so in my profession and would proudly participate!
yep. what you stated above - all perfectly legal. that's the legal protection and obligation you have that Zimmerman does not have.

you have a badge. he doesn't.
you have power to arrest. he doesn't.
you have a common sense. he doesn't.
you're a cop. he isn't.

The facts remain to be seen whether or not Zimmerman physically confronted Martin or if it was just verbal and Martin attacked him when retreating as some have said.
yup. we'll have to wait and see on April 10th but like I said before - based on 911 call... he did knowingly and willfully put himself in danger by getting out of his car to confront him.... so that's not looking good for him at this point.

And that is just was Martin did he did not run away he defended his self ! No one will never knew who threw the first punch ! If Zimmerman had never had followed Martin he would still be alive!

Ok, that's explains.

Hey airportcop, I'm apologize about misunderstood post about your police status. I wasn't know much about you because sometime, I think non-city/county police have restriction with authority but it seems not true anymore.

what do you think, steinhauer? "confront" = hostile situation and it most likely leads to violence.

If that is the case, then that is an attack, not self defense. Zimmerman never attacked Trayvon according to the police report and eyewitnesses.
I'm appalled at your intentional ignorance at RECORDED evidence such as 911 call. do you seriously think Zimmerman was a victim in here based on 911 conversation?

the way conversation was going and the tone of it... it clearly points that Zimmerman is an aggressor and a vigilante.

Its not a robbery. They just ransacked the place....only 150 dollars damage....and it was all by teens. The teaching staff appear to have given the students some kind of leeway.....might turn out to be a big mistake.

no no. that's what this type of incident is called - "Flash Mob Robbery". The most common target was 7/11... go figure, right?
