Yes as a matter of fact I do it quite often! Oh, and just in case you think I wouldn't do it off duty? Wrong! I would try to be a good witness at first but if someone's life was on the line I would jump in head first!

Thank you for doing what you do!:ty:

the fact still remains that lead investigator (homicide detective) of the shooting case recommended that Zimmerman be arrested and charged with manslaughter.

One thing that a lot of people don't understand is that the police can't and don't charge people with a crime. They can make a recommendation and often do. That job is up to a prosecuting attorney and a judge (both lawyers). Police officers only decide if there is probable cause to make an arrest. Lots of things like evidence, witnesses, the elements of the crime and the totality of the circumstances must be considered. The police base their probable cause on their training and skills and on their knowledge of the laws. Tough job but someones got to do it! Thankless most times as well!

Crazy and scary isn't it! Remember the LA riots?

I remember them. I actually know someone that was yanked out of a tractor trailer and beaten. He killed his attackers and was sentenced to a medical facility instead of prison.

Spike Lee should be held civilly and criminally liable for anything that happens to those people or their property. Outrageous! Just like Obama having to put in his two cents worth! Irresponsible! We can also thank Al Sharpton for this mess! I say bring him and the Panthers in on a civil suit for stirring up this hate! Prosecute them when someone gets hurt! Bill Cosby has the right idea!

That's not what I asked.

Confronting a suspicious person is not the same as jumping in to save a victim. Stand Your Ground does actually apply in your case if you jumped in to save a helpless victim from vicious person but that's not what I asked.

I asked if you would knowingly put yourself in danger to confront a suspicious person even though he wasn't breaking any law but it has potential to escalate into violence.

If he wasn't breaking the law and I am off duty then I would call 911 and be a good witness. Let me also add that if I was concerned enough about the situation I would stick around to see it through when the police arrived. I have done so on such things as DWIs, & people getting out of control in a restaurant or store. But then again I am a cop and I carry concealed and have been trained how to respond. If he is committing a violent crime then I will gladly step in even off duty. I am obligated to do so in my profession and would proudly participate!

The facts remain to be seen whether or not Zimmerman physically confronted Martin or if it was just verbal and Martin attacked him when retreating as some have said.

Oh god not another one of those "flash mob" robbery. It's mostly by teenagers.

Its not a robbery. They just ransacked the place....only 150 dollars damage....and it was all by teens. The teaching staff appear to have given the students some kind of leeway.....might turn out to be a big mistake.

Lock them all up! When and if there lazy stinkin' parents complain or protest lock them up too! Bad example and down right stupid! Build more jails, they will come!

Build more jails? I don't want that because it cost taxpayers so much. :ugh:

Yup, 1992 LA riot was erupt after unequal juries in the court but they changed much during aftermath.

If in your property so you can but if someone is in other place that's not yours so you can't be armed and confront at someone, once you confront a person that where property isn't yours so you lose all rights to self defense.

Let police handles any situation that happened isn't in your property.

I can be armed and I can insert myself when things get violent even when it doesn't involve me or my property.

No, you can't.

Not all states have stand your ground law, especially CA and if you do it so prison time for you.

Good luck if you do and I like to see you on media.

However, I don't think it is how stand your ground law works and once you confront at first place so you LOSE all rights, that it.
