Florida Neighborhood Watch

you disputed her and said "many reports...."

I thought you were gonna just sit and wait with koko :dunno2:

Exactly..... Part of that is pointing out that reports differ. Which is the whole reason for waiting. :)

I would be very leery of strange people walking/driving thru the neighborhood, wearing a hoodie to cover their face. Many times, I've spotted cars riding by, over and over, (as if they are "casing" the neighborhood).....as kids are outside skateboarding/playing basketball, etc.

My boys have told me countless times, people have stopped them outside, asking if they want to buy some weed or "tree".....even asking for cigarettes....and several times I've had to go outside and confront these people....but not with a gun!....telling them to get the hell out of the neighborhood or I was gonna call the Police, then I would call Security and report the license tag on their car.

Rar for the course here in Houston. Problem is too many people don't give a damn and have apathy.

since the lawyer was very confident that her testimony would blow Zimmerman's defense outta window.... sounds like they've got a proof... or that she will or has passed polygraph test

 His lawyer is confident as well.

Perhaps Zimmerman should not have been armed per crime watch rules but it appears he was legally armed. Thank goodness he was seeing that his head was being slammed against the concrete. Assuming those reports are accurate of course.

The reason the dispatcher told him not to follow a suspect is that a suspect might be armed as well. If I were Zimmerman, I would stay out of it and let cops take care of it. I am sure that he realized now that any incident like this could lead to death.

Was he armed illegally?
huh? where did that come from?

I've never said such thing. nobody did. the whole point is - was it necessary and smart for him to confront a person as an armed Neighborhood Watchdog? Don't you agree that it can lead to legal headache if a "small talk" escalated to violence? As an armed citizen, we're supposed to de-scalate, not escalate because of possible civil and criminal liability.

Don't you think it's very troubling if an armed citizen intentionally invite himself to danger or provoke one and then claim Stand Your Ground defense? After all.... that dead person is the only witness....

exactly. it's just a legal mess and to bring a gun into it... he's nothing more than a Charles Bronson vigilante.

It's illegal to invite yourself to danger if you're armed. it's clearly stated in Florida law.

there you go. that's precisely why he should be charged with manslaughter since he was never in danger in the first place when calling 911.

I believe this entire case hinges on that very moment - was his life in danger when he called 911?

nothing else matters. it does not matter if Trayvon followed him back to car and pummeled him. it does not matter if Trayvon ran away and hid and then pounced on him. it does not matter if Trayvon was drug-dealing with somebody. none of it matters. it does not matter whose voice was it at the end of call. what matters is that somebody died and whether or not if it's justifiable.

As far as I can see, this whole situation was completely preventable if Zimmerman did not take the matters into his own hands therefore Trayvon's death was unjustifiable since his life was never in danger when he called 911 and ignored 911 dispatcher and broke Neighborhood Watch's cardinal rules. Plain and simple.

What about Trayvon? He should ignore the follower and keep walking home. He would be alive today. I bet that he didn't realize that he beat the armed guy up until it was too late.

it has no bearing in this case anyway. neither does Zimmerman's domestic abuse incident.

what matters is.... was Trayvon's death preventable if Zimmerman let the cops deal with it by not getting out of his car and taking matters into his own hands?

No law against approaching someone.... Pretty sure there are crime watch signs around like most neighborhoods.

I'll ask you this - who is armed? who has to take a high road to avoid conflict at all cost? who has a higher responsibility in here?
