FBI wants to access your online etc.

If you don't care that the government watches your private life then you wont mind if they stick cameras in all the rooms of your house? Send animal control down just check on your animals and dhs down to check on your kids? Thats why we have a right to privacy. The invasion will get worse the more they are allowed to do. And you may trust this government with your personal info but what about the gov in ten or twenty years? Do you know they will be trustworthy then?

Also not everything that is private is criminal. You're assuming that people that would prefer their private life remains private are hiding something criminal and thats not always true.

You made bad example because FBI talked about records messages and nothing do with cameras, animals, and DHS. DSH? Are you kidding me? My wife works for DHS.

You dont feel that being watched is being harrased? What if it was someone sitting outside your window instead of doing it electronicaly. There is no difference.

That's stupid someone sitting outside my window since We don't have any crimes. True waste of our taxes for send everyone sitting outside to watch people without crime. You need get a fact next time. Not make up a story to scary people.

Here's another example. What you think if AD mods (police) read your private messages and conversation with other members? Only reason is you got reported or we don't like you. What if AD rules (Constitution) allows mods to do anything they like without respectful of the members?

Let's say one member made complaint about your post and said you are harassing and you should be banned. Mod reads your messages without your & Alex's permission. So far, only 1 member complaint out of 100. Then the mod (police) bans you and based on one member's opinion. Is this ban fair, and does it represent the rest of ADers?

You would think it is not fair if other 99 members don't have problem with you. You would feel the mod is acting unfairly. That's the same thing with police (government) and USA people, it needs to be fair and balanced which is what USA is all about. If AD is like Nazi-mod style forum, lots of members wouldn't like it and quit or go to other forum where more there is freedom from mods and rules.

I don't care they read my PM because it's useless info there which do nothing with crime. I feel that Gov can read our text, email, PM, blah blah since 2000's. Nothing news to me. use common sense about PM. Members always can take screenshot or forward their PM to mod/admin. Make no difference. Simple respect people.

Again, Like I said I am open mind.

It is against our constitution - You can read Fourth and Fifth Amendment.
U.S. Constitution | U.S. Constitution | LII / Legal Information Institute

The government isn't allowed to scope your life without warrant from the court.

No, the government can't read your PM without permission from Alex and Alex has to handover the PM to authorities.

Does not matter what crime you have commited, even none. You could mistaken as criminal and you could get hurt or killed. If it had happened in the past, then it can happen to anyone.

Here's perfect example that happens near my home.

Drug Task Force Raids Wrong House, RPD Involved - Rochester, News, Weather, Sports, and Events - 13WHAM.com

Busted wrong house 4 times? Whats wrong with their police department?

And that is not the only case, there are other cases where innocent victims got killed by mistake.

I don't have any crime since I live in USA. Just speeding ticket. That's it. Why should I worry about it? I am open mind and I don't really care. I don't think FBI would read over billion of messages from million people. Good luck for FBI.

I don't know what's happen to him. My guess that his house do not have sign house number. Same happen to my friend's friend's house got break down by police and found it out it was wrong house due lack sign house number or sign was not clear.

Your link is do nothing with FBI. Plus 16 years ago which internet was not very popular that times.

There is no difference between someone recording your audio and someone recording your video or showing up in person to view what your doing first hand they are all the same invasion of privacy.

It's not meant to br taken litteraly, it's an analogy. There is no difference between someone istening to your conversation electronicaly or sitting outside your window.

Then why they made a big deal about FBI access everyone life without crime? It dont make sense to me.

Not everything people want to remain private is a crime. Some people don't belive their business is anyone but their own.

Don't forget the scope of what is criminal can change as well. Many things we think of as standard moral rights today used to be outlawed and many thing that where legal in the past are now illegal. Many people have been prosecuted for what they did before the law changed.

that's what Harvard University just recently did. terrible.

your wife most likely does not have a sufficient clearance to know these things.

but.... that's what they have been doing since 9/11. NYPD has been doing that in Newark, NJ. NJ Governor Christie got pissed off.

ok.

they're just looking for a reason even a tiny little one to harass or arrest you. I was just told by a fellow motorcyclist that his son gets harassed and treated like a criminal every single time he gets pulled over because of his DUI from 25 years ago.

it's not about "without crime". again..... it's about government harassment. if they see that you rented a book from public library and bought a pressure cooker from amazon... FBI will knock on your door to ask you about it and come down hard on you to make you say something to get you arrested.

Cool story. Do I care?

plenty. Martin Luther King, Jr. for example. Elliot Spitzer.

Martin Luther King, Jr. won for freedom of black people. What's about him? What's does with FBI access internet?

DUI is crime and that's his problem. It was not really private info since most police officers can check crime as records for DUI,murders, etc and old records never will gone no matter what.

Are you sure they would do to millions people without crime ? I don't buy it. Again, Where you find the info about government harassment people?

Let waste their time to check all chefs, engineers, hunters, winemaker, because they bought pressure cooker, guns, homemade electric without no license, and chemistry.

you didn't know anything about FBI harassment on MLK? google it. it's a famous story.

only one DUI from 25 years ago and yet... they treat him like he committed DUI yesterday? that's what will happen to you.

Are you sure they would do to millions people without crime ? I don't buy it.
they are already doing it everyday.

Again, Where you find the info about government harassment people?
you've already read about it. IRS scandal. FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover was notorious for harassing and spying on citizens and even government officials if any of them even criticized or pissed him off. Hoover did same to MLK.

Steven Seagal. Yasir Afifi. Steven Hatfill. David House. David Williams. any protesters. any frequent travelers to suspicious countries. any outspoken political activists. list goes on.

Have you not been following the harassment by the DOJ and IRS??? It is on the news every day. Kinda hard to miss.

A warrant/court order was obtained in this case too....

I worked in a federal law enforcement/intelligence agency and we can't tap people's phones without a warrant. I use to be the go to person for processing the paperwork needed for the wire taps. We have software that allows us to see the numbers, names, and addresses of people a suspect calls and receives calls from - but that's very basic info, but helpful in investigations.

In my current agency, which is primarily Intel and not law enforcement, we use that same software to confirm social security numbers and residential addresses. I don't think it matters what your carrier is...this is something everyone is vulnerable to.

I'm sure we're being watched everywhere... online, on the streets, at your job, etc. They have surveillance cameras in many places as security. The thing is: you can't really hide from Big Brother... they know what you're doing on the internet, they know your phone conversations without anyone knowing. The FBI or President can deny that claim, but with the technology we have... it's becoming too easy now than old fashioned way.

it's a price we pay to lose our "freedom" we used to enjoy before. :(
