And Pro-Choicers can be cold and unfeeling too toward the fetus. ;)

Pro-choicers are far from cold and unfeeling. Quite the opposite. It is out of concern that they support the woman's right to make decisions regarding her reproductive health. Pro-choicers are concerned with many other issues than abortion. They are concerned about lack of access to adequate education and birth control. They are concerned about women dying from illegal, back alley, non sterile procedures. They are concerned about full tem babies being given birth to and then abandoned in trash cans. They are concerned about newborns being shaken to death by parents who didn't want to be parents to begin with. They are concerned with children not getting proper nutrition because a mother can't afford to put food in another mouth. They are concerned about the suffering of a child who is born with birth defects so severe that they are incompatible with life. They are concerned with protection of both women's rights and children's rights.

Anti-abortionists, on the other hand, have a singular focus. Fetus, fetus, fetus.

wow I didn't realize a lot comments here after my pervious post. Stupid sidekick. >_<

Shel, I glad we don't get in a trouble. I really don't meant to be rude.. :)

You weren't being rude at all, KarrissaMann. Just putting an observation into words.;)

I am "unfeeling" for ALL fetuses except if it's mine!

Only if I make a decision to bond with THAT fetus, then I do have the right to develop feelings for that fetus!

Oh brother...I cant believe this is turning out to be who is unfeeling and who is not. This is getting silly.

Is this becoming a competition of who has more feelings? If so, I am not interested. :D

No shit!

Good point. If it is not your fetus, it is not your obligation to feel anything toward it.

**nodding** Haven't you heard? Pro-choicers are cold, heartless, murderers. Funny how many of us are also mothers, isn't it?

They use the human tissue on research of science, and I think that's the most cruel thing to do. It's not their fetus, what gives them that right. I don't agree with it.

How is it cruel? Would you prefer that they just discard the tissue once it's taken out of the woman's body, because that's what happens. They discard it as medical waste.

I think it would be more productive to use that tissue for some good. I see nothing wrong with using fetal tissue for medical research. At least, it won't go to waste.

I don't see it as any different than someone donating their body to medical research.

That's your opinion, I do find it cruel by treating the unborn child as a worthless object. It's wrong for hospitals routinely throw away fetuses as medical waste without parental approval.

It does go to waste after medical research. Go to google and check it out. :)

Permission from the patient is not needed to dispose of medical waste. They don't get your permission to dispose of your gall bladder after they remove it, either, even though it was once inside your body. Laws govern the disposal of medical waste, not emotion.

What came to my mind was extracting cord blood from the placenta once the baby is born. They usually discard that as medical waste, too. Why don't pro lifers jump up and down about that? After all, it sustained the fetus throughout the pregnancy. It was it's life support, and they usually throw it away after the mother expels it as afterbirth.

I don't know anyone who would want to buried their gall bladder. Some people would prefer to buried their fetus, and they should have that right.

Quite true, as well. And I don't see them jumping up and down about the embryos that are destoyed in the process of IVF, either.

Um, I am afraid to tell you that surgical abortions are all gore. Fetuses are often dismembered. Definitely NOT a pretty sight at all.

Not when it is medical waste, and it is. Quite often, in the case of a spontaneous abortion, all of the contents of the womb are not expelled, and must be removed by a doctor. Are you suggesting that all these bits and pieces of tissue be turned over to a patient so they can bury it in their backyard, or worse yet, next to a river where the decaying tissue can contaminate the water?

Good point. Quite often the parts removed (either in an abortion or during any surgical procedure) are considered HAZARDOUS WASTE. There are protocols that are adhered to in discarding it.

Exactly. The laws regarding the disposal of hazardous waste are there to protect people from negative side effects.

because of that... they developed better medical tools/procedures/cures/etc. for many people. Do you not support advancement of medical technology to better our life and to ensure that our future babies will not fall same fate as our fetuses who suffer from horrible defects? What better way to do so than with human tissue? A computer simulation? that's not going to work quite so well.

Out of randomness...

This thread or just me... I kepp seeing pro-choicers are unfeeling and unemotional for their 'logical' choices, while pro-lifers are deeply feeling and very emotional for their 'illogical' choices.

Interesting. :hmm:

PS - No offense, really. It's just what I see as my own POV...

because of logical choices which look un-emotional and un-feeling (those are not real words but you know what I mean :o)... the legal system and the rights for all people are better and more equal without bias - hence.. a win-win for all. It is known throughout the history that when using feeling and emotions in any case.. things are full of misinformation, disinformation, confusion, chaos, etc... many people die that way.... but same for logical version... except they die in a more cruel way since they have to do it illegally and with fear.
