Can you clarify on this?

According to the article, the woman had a miscarriage at 11 weeks and it is still considered as a fetus. How would that be considered as a human tissue when it is still a fetus?

Actually, I do remember learning this from my Biology class at Arizona State. We are all actually human tissue..yes, it sounds crude but our skin, nails, eyes, hair, and etc are all human tissue.

Tissue (biology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

So, a fetus is human tissue.

Yeah, I'm aware of how human tissues has to be legally disposed properly and to be informed and/or noted. I was only wondering because as a fetus, it is referred as a parasite that contains to be with the host. That is why I was wanting some clarification into this.

It survives in the womb because of its parasitic nature. But that doesn't make the tissues it is made of any less human tissues.

Ah ok, Thanks for clarifying this, Shel and Jillio. I think I was getting it mixed up along down the road somewhere with the fetus and the parasitic nature. I must be getting tired here not to think things clearly :giggle:

She has a right to have any kind of ceremony she wishes. However, she does not have the right to put fetal tissue anywhere she so chooses. That is not my determination. It is the determination of the laws regarding the disposal of human tissue.

They use the human tissue on research of science, and I think that's the most cruel thing to do. It's not their fetus, what gives them that right. I don't agree with it.

Out of randomness...

This thread or just me... I kepp seeing pro-choicers are unfeeling and unemotional for their 'logical' choices, while pro-lifers are deeply feeling and very emotional for their 'illogical' choices.

Interesting. :hmm:

PS - No offense, really. It's just what I see as my own POV...

You are doing fine keeping up with the discussion. Most think of a parasite as something non-human.

Not unfeeling here...I have stated before and will state again, I do not like the idea of abortion myself and I wouldnt get one but I am realistic and know that it wouldnt be right of me to force what I think of it on others and I support everyone's right to choose whether it is abortion or not. Gotta be careful here on how you label people cuz many pro-choicers do have feelings too..just believe that everyone has the right to the choice about their own bodies.

Its called "medical waste." And it is an acceptable practice. Better than experimenting on babies that have been born, now, isn't it?

You are correct to a certain extent. But that is what makes the pro-choice argument ineffective in legal matters. Legal matters are decided on verifiable facts, not emotion. It isn't a matter of being "unfeeling". It is a matter of realizing that emotion is not appropriate in legal issues.

I didn't say *all*. Sorry for confusion.

Yea, that's what I've been seeing on here too. ;)

In some way, you are right but they do have feelings and emotions, it's just that they are grappling with the issue of abortion with complexity while pro-lifers make it simple - no abortion regardless of reasons. Pro-life people can be perceived as cold and unfeeling toward women who have abortion, calling them murderers. Oh well.

The choices you make are your choices, no matter how logical or illogical they may be to others.

You are confusing "unfeeling" with an emotional response to a legal issue. Just because someone is able to understand that emotion plays no part in legal issues, and to separate feeling from logic doesn't mean that feeling is absent. It simply means that they can control their personal reactions to prevent bias.

Good post. It is not as simple as an emotional response would attempt to make it seem.

And Pro-Choicers can be cold and unfeeling too toward the fetus. ;)

Right..gotta keep those emotions in check especially on a topic like this one.
