Problem is parents keep making that choice for their kids. If you say something the first thing you are told is don't tell me how raise my kid. So I leave it alone.

to hell with you or all others whos lives are effected very negatively by the choices we make. we want the product you be damned.

then why not help us stop them?

But are they truly given a choice? Or do all doctors, teachers, and other professionals give only the CI as the only feasible option? Are they told anything about deaf outside of rude jokes and they like that hearing community have? They are not given a choice...

step outside of yourself, if you can just for a moment, and understand the world dose not revolve around you. and that their are other human beings that inhabit this rock called ear-th, and that some of those others are Deaf, who have their own language and culture, histories and stories one of which happens to be eye-th..

then step outside the argument you are stating which is termed one of autonomous choice, (its the same argument used for any product or behavior regardless of harm caused)

and pls look at what im stating in regards to the behavior and policy of the very multi nationals you support and what they are doing to Deaf in regards to language denial.
and how language denial effects our culture and our future as a linguistic minority and people.

CI companies and the combined system tell parents what do all the time
its called language deprivation

Very true. At the end of the day I'm still deaf and I will sign. My career will be in ASL interpreter in the medical field so I need to be able to hear and understand.

I'm doing what is going to make me happy and help me in my career. It has nothing to do with anyone else it's a person choice and personally I want a CI.

If I were to have a deaf child he or she would not be able to get a CI until they are 18 and they can decide for themselves. No one pushed it on me so I won't push it on anyone else it's a person life choice.

Your trying to do what the companies are doing and push people not to get one the same way your saying they are pushing parents to get their children one. So really in my opinion your no different from them so you comments mean nothing at this point.

I believe in freedom of choice.

Deaf can do any job hearies can the issue is audism and discrimination

the plm african Americans face isnt that they are black...
it is the discrimination and racism form the majority not something inherent in the color of the skin..

And I will be healing by completing medical school and then I can do more. Yes I will be interpreting for people but at the same time I'll be a doctor as well and I can tell the parents all of them options and they will be getting that from a deaf person which is probably very rare.
