Yes we all get angry if it's anything about paying tax tax tax. I don't like it either and nobody does but I understand my duty as an American citizen to pay the tax. I pay tax to support and protect the American concept - Democracy.

here's a funny thing. "Spreading the wealth".. now what the heck does that mean... The riches pay tax and that money gets distributed around for poor people. c'mon... do you really think we'll get something like that in here? That's how Anti-Obama people want to confuse people. Here's a truth - Obama wants rich people to pay MORE tax and poor people to pay LESS tax. Why? because it makes sense! For decades especially under Bush Administration... middle class people pay high tax and they can BARELY support themselves! Rich people get bunch of tax cuts or pay less tax. Does it make sense? no. What can you do about this? vote for Obama and end this bullshit. I don't mind paying tax but I don't believe I should pay nearly half of my pay at this salary bracket! :mad2:
According to the Tax Foundation, we already have the world's most progressive tax system. (The Tax Foundation - News To Obama: The OECD Says The United States Has The Most Progressive Tax System). How much is enough?

With the Bush tax cuts, while the rich's marginal tax rates went down, their share of the total taxes paid actually went up and everyone else's went down. Like much of economics, it's counterintuitive. I posted about this a while ago here: http://www.alldeaf.com/war-political-news/57903-last-presidential-debate-4.html#post1126559. There's more info on post 99.

If, for decades, the middle class have barely been supporting themselves, I suspect it's because they're expecting too much from their means. Surely, the middle class in one of the wealthiest societies the world has ever known can find places to cut their budget to live more comfortably within their means. I've known middle class families who have followed this principle very effectively and I've known families who just had to have more and more and more and it's now biting them in the ass.

By the way, I'm not talking about families who have hit rough times out of no fault of their own.

why can't the rich cut their spending? why is that always expected of the middle class?

Many times, the rich do have to cut their spending. For instance, The NFL now gives mandatory finance classes to new recruits because too many players got huge contracts and still managed to live above their means and get in financial trouble. Overspending is an affliction that's not limited to just the middle class.

My point is that if you're making a middle class salary, you should have enough for everything you need and them some. Our standard of living is far higher than just a few generations ago, and people back then got by. If you're having trouble making ends meet, then there's a good chance you're trying to pay for too much house or too much car or too much vacation or whatever.

you have to spend more to pay less tax

telling the middle class to spend less is easier said than done. how do you account for medical bills, child care or paying off debt accumulated from a student loan?

personally, i think rich people ought to cut their spending. after all, is it really necessary to live in a $2 million home? i think not.

equating an NFL player to someone who is middle class is an unfair comparison. even if an NFL player is expected to cut their spending, they still have a significantly higher percentage of money left over than those who are considered middle class.

It's about what he going to change whatever you're complain or praise

I know he isn't in office until next Tuesday. Or is that Wed? Anyway....

Now... Now, the first thing I'm complain. Obama want to postpone on DTV to end analog by Feb to other time. Their admin support his ideal.

Obama Supports Postponing DTV to June - WSJ.com

Remember his famous quote
"Yes, we can change!"

Yet, we're stick with old technology! Sure, they have problem with money to give away the coupon of voucher to get DTV conversation box. I'm simple to ask that people need to wake up. DTV been exist more than 2 years ago! To tell you, if it's seriously ponepost until June, more tax waste.

Who cares about DTV? there are obviously far more important things to worry about than just digital techology. DTV can wait.

Obama isnt president yet so seriously, just give it time and see how the progress goes so far.

It is too early to complain about anything.

Analog need shut off because of allows to arrange all channels into small spectrum and open new spectrum for wireless carriers to bid for expands 3G and more bandwidth.

It's unnecessary to keep analog broadcast for very long time but only problem is need more funds for coupons.

Well, it's capitalism but they can afford to pay high taxes, high taxes could be equal to 1990's level.

capitalism or not, it's still unneccessary.

as far as taxes are concerned, i think the rich should pay higher taxes. they have the ability to, so why not?

Are you say its unneccessary about rich people own $2 millions value of house? Would you call me unneccessary if I want to buy house that's value around $2 millions, you called unneccessary for like that is just your opinion.

That's not what I means about capitalism, there's from poor to rich people in around country, they can spend on everything at their own risk, it called freedom of choice, if they have enough money or feel comfortable to own $2 million house, its their choice, it has nothing with us to look or invade their choice and rich people are doing a lot of different thing, such as own business, investment, celebs (supermodel), own in different currencies like Euro and much more.

There's a lot of mansions or house cost at more than $1 million in anywhere, especially in CA due skyrocket of real estate in early 2000s to mid 2000s, anyone own more than $1 million house would cost a lot of property tax, depends on place.

For tax, they had been done in 1990s before 2nd Bush admin started in 2001 and would be again under Obama admin, they would pay around 40% in tax or nearly to number with no tax break and if rich people who own small businesses then they should pay around less to fair rate, unlike big business, such as wal fart should pay high tax.

To note, my post does nothing to against your opinion but just want define about how freedom and capitalism works.

I don't want live in apartment for long time, I prefer to own nice house due my personal and comfortable, its part of my choice.

Wow, Obama is take oath tomorrow. I'm looking forward on Spider-man come save his ass.

foxrac,

i'm well aware of the fact that there are more expensive homes than those that are $2 million. i was simply using $2 million as an example.

why should the middle class be expected to cut corners when the rich don't? that's the problem i have. if the rich can afford to pay higher taxes, they should.

my point is, the difference between what is paid by the rich vs. the middle class should be significantly more -- and it's not.
Since the rich already pay much more income tax than the middle class, how much more do you want them to pay? What percentage?
