I don't understand about support social programs to be considered as socialist and you don't define or give more detail about socialist at first place, I had feel to got offended by you when you made fun of me in previous post, however if you continue to do like that then I wouldn't unable to discuss until you make better comment.

I'm going to let SimpleMan to explain about concept of socialist and I'm sorry for being misunderstood over between democratic and socialist.

Pure capitalism is means everything is free market with no social programs, such as no social security, welfare, medicare, food stamp or any government assistance programs like prior to 1930s.

Yup, probably because I was misunderstood about concept of socialist, also what about socialist party in Venezuela since Hugo Chavez is socialist, is it really true socialist?

Some other countries have social democratic party like in Canada.

First of all - I have never made fun of you. I simply pointed out a critical flaw in your post and SimpleMan's post as well. I'm getting sick of people accusing Obama of being socialist and they cannot even explain why. and they STILL keep accusing. I got little angry there so my posts may have been harsh. I apologize for that if you felt offended by it. And yes I have made several comments about Obama being socialist but in a fundamentally different way.

We had "pure capitalism" because America was very young and everything was new. Believe me - you do not want that. That's why it led to great depression TWICE.

There's no really "true anything" in the world.
Look at North Korea - it's a dictatorship and communism.
United Kingdom - it's a monarchy and democracy.
China - it's a communist country but they don't even run it like communism. In fact - it's closer to socialism than communism. Its political system is extremely extremely extremely confusing. It changes faster than a nerd popping his pimples

about Venezuela... well it's bit complicated. The country itself is not actually a socialist state but the people elected Chavez who is a socialist. If you think Obama is a socialist... take a look at what Chavez did. I assure you that it's not what you think.... it's more than "taking the money from wealthy and spreading it around."
 
by the way foxrac, why have you lost respect for me? because i offer my opinions and am not afraid to disagree with or debate others? the last time i checked, that wasn't a crime.

I was in bad mood at this time when started debate and being mean, I'm sorry about act like way, also I got upset after Jiro gave me a harsher comment in last page.

I wouldn't going to bother if you bash on republican or conservative but wouldn't be good imagine to do like that, in my opinion, and I'm not member on any parties but my views are moderate but got more conservative at over time.

Ok, I'm sorry about upset you after labeled Obama as socialist and he's official democratic but some people labeled him as socialist for some reason, such as you said about spread of wealth or related, you are really real mad man, same as me in real life.

by the way, i'm a moderate -- although at one time i used to be an independent (when i was in my early 20s) then switched to democrat.

i think democrats and conservatives both have legitimate perpectives which is why i consider myself to be a moderate.

we did not bash on republican or conservative at all. we didn't bash on your political view either. it's specifically focused on "Obama being socialist" because it makes no sense and nobody can explain exactly why.

you know what I'm saying? btw - i am a moderate conservative as well. :cool2:

Yup, none of political parties are true when come with right parties.

Socialist seems more complicated to explain like you said about Venezuela and I had really bad headache to research about socialist

I don't think Obama would be same as Chavez, however I know Chavez got money from oil and taxes from businesses or wealth people to give money to poor people without any improve for their country, that reason because I'm against on part like that. I know Venezuela got alot of protest everyday and never stop, some people already left to other countries, such as USA in Houston and Miami.

Thanks, Democratic Party has more selective when come with conservative or liberal, there's alot of conservative and moderate democrats in southern states but in around 90's, many of conservative democrats had been covert or shift to republican and seems rebound in after 2006.

I know there's liberal republican, such as former NY mayor and usually slightly liberal on social and conservative on economy or fiscal.

I used to be liberal during high school year until 20 then made big shift to moderate, more leaning to conservative, not surprised about took quiz and said I'm more conservative.

Yes we all get angry if it's anything about paying tax tax tax. I don't like it either and nobody does but I understand my duty as an American citizen to pay the tax. I pay tax to support and protect the American concept - Democracy.

here's a funny thing. "Spreading the wealth".. now what the heck does that mean... The riches pay tax and that money gets distributed around for poor people. c'mon... do you really think we'll get something like that in here? That's how Anti-Obama people want to confuse people. Here's a truth - Obama wants rich people to pay MORE tax and poor people to pay LESS tax. Why? because it makes sense! For decades especially under Bush Administration... middle class people pay high tax and they can BARELY support themselves! Rich people get bunch of tax cuts or pay less tax. Does it make sense? no. What can you do about this? vote for Obama and end this bullshit. I don't mind paying tax but I don't believe I should pay nearly half of my pay at this salary bracket! :mad2:
