Thank god. He was such an unpleasant person that less than two days after he joined AD, he got banned. Ugh - was glad to see him go.

That tells me that he was not a new member at all, as we suspected, and had other violations under his belt.

Somebody told me just last week that I can't write correctly because of this.

I'm confused by this one. You have received many compliments on your writing, which I 100% agree with, personally. That, and your great sense of humor.

I don't see Grendel as having any agenda, except to open up dialogue and share their family's experience with their journey.

Could not agree with you more. Grendel has given of her time to share her expereinces raising a deaf child with a cochlear implant so that others may benefit. The pathetic few who constantly attack her do so because they cannot accept the wonderful diversity that exists in the deaf community outside of this particular forum.

Ever wonder that the ones who spend the most time in this forum are those thateither do not have a cochlear implant or denied one to their child. They are so threatened by the thousands of successfully implanted children and their parents because of their own insecuriites.

Look who's back!:laugh2:

Looks like someone is rallying the audists.:laugh2:

Wirelessly posted

you couldn't be more wrong. I don't agree with them, but they have plenty to back up their position.

You are so right FJ they are the polar opposite of those who are hard core and anti-ci. Just like the anti-ciers in this forum, push their buttons and they will spew "facts" and "research" all day but they cannot accept the fact that there is no one way to raise a deaf child and that there is no one method or mode of communication that works for every deaf child.

Don't worry, not staying long as unlike you I have a life away from this forum but it is good to see that you are still pissing into the wind denying the benefits of cochlear implants for children. I guess in your mind it helps you get over the fact that you missed the boat so many years ago. Must really get you that after two plus decades no one is listening to you as more and more deaf children are getting implanted.

Good. Glad to know that you won't be sticking around. But to be honest, I was looking forward to the laughs that your vicious posts generally inspire around here.

Bye, bye now.

I like Grendel, and I won't worry about whether she has an agenda or not. I was struck by her early success with her daughter, and my fingers are crossed that she will continue to be relatively free of problems. Notice I said relatively free, since of course there will be problems. I am curious about what kind of problems she and her daughter will face in the future, you know? I think Grendel is one of the exceptional parents I know of, and I am always glad to see her words of her journey, and I sense her willingness to change her methods if necessary. I just hope I could see honest words from her child, but that is much later, if it ever happens. Anyway, kudos to Grendle. I am glad she is here, for one.
You, on the other hand, I am ambivalent about. :giggle:

You can find an identity by being a "not," but it's lonely and woefully inefficient. People need to feel like they belong.

A wise therapist told me not to say that I didn't want my child to be a certain thing, or that's exactly what he would become.

:laugh2: That one gave me a much needed laugh, too! Probably wrung a smile out of even the crankiest among us.
