They do not have the right to be here illegally. There are ways of entering the U.S. by legal means. Not following the laws would require deportation.

The key here is to give the police of Arizona some teeth in their long ongoing battle against the tide of illegal aliens in their state. The citizens of Arizona have spoken.

so how is it any different from current federal law? we deported them but they will keep coming back so how is this any more effective for Arizona?

So it is okay with you if aliens receive all the basic services and retain all the basic rights of a citizen so long as they are deported when discovered to be illegal.

And deport the ones that are doing field work that needs to be done first rather than those on welfare.

Still apples and oranges.

Government still require you to provide proof of citizen... when you vote, when you go to the ER, when you file for social security, when you file for taxes, go to pay for insurance and driver licences, go to a bar and so on. No one is going to come up and ask if you have health insurance randomly. Instead, what they're going to do is look at your records or deal with you when the need for identification arises.

No. The U.S. govt DOES NOT REQUIRE you to provide proof of citizenship when you vote. That's the problem here. Each state is different when it comes to voting requirements and proof of citizenship is not one of them although a few states are stricter than others on this issue. Why do you think we tried to pass a National Voter Identification Card bill which would already address proof of citizenship, but it failed to pass? Nor are you required to provide documentation when you go to the ER. Federal law requires any emergency room to provide care for anybody, regardless of ability to pay or legal status.

They are here illegally and broke the law entering without any proper documentation. They go back where they came from.

Voter Registration in New Jersey

and I'm sure rest of states are same. If the criminals (American citizen) cannot vote, then how can illegals vote? so I have no idea what kokonut is talking about with U.S. govt not requiring you to provide proof of citizenship when you vote. :dunno:

Eligibility, yes. In what documented form required?

then if Arizona is concerned about illegals using fraudulent documents - then Arizona should focus on that instead of harassing law-abiding immigrants.

righttttt "reasonable suspicion"

Why don't we just take down the Statue of Liberty? This bill is contradictory to what the U.S. has always stood for.

Redundant, in more ways than one. First, there is already a thread about this in General Chat. Second, it is already illegal to be an undocumented alien in all states. That is why they are called "illegal aliens.":cool2:

Mod note:

Another thread has been merged.

That's a good sign.

I hope so.

Wrong there will not be smaller class rooms as the schools are getting budget cuts across the country and the class rooms will double in numbers! I remember when the Hispanics when on a protest it really hurt a lot of farmers as they had no one to pick their food! This could happen again on a larger scale this time , I wonder if Arizona thought of this! This law is going to back fire right in someone face! It is a real bad idea! I just hope people will not get hurt or killed . As I really think there could be riots over this laws!
People are always looking for a scapegoat when times are tough and the Hispanics are going to be it this time! And it is wrong!

What's wrong with legalizing ur citizenship status?.....in the first place?...Isn't the word "illegal" basically "against the law"....And what's wrong with learning to speak/sign English?....or write it, as we deafies do when we can't speak it....

I remmy the Boat Lift from Cuba that invaded Miami....my deaf friend worked at the newspaper there, and she said there was so much crime after they came to Miami, she left the city.....we had a lot of "illegals" here in Jax also! Along with more crime, as I believe Castro let the criminals come into the US.
