A Thread About Absolutely Nothing! Part II

That's already implemented in some places for people convicted of OUI. They have to blow a breathalyzer to make the car start.

They don't get a choice. That is what they must do to drive.

Um... what? That doesn't have anything to do with turning off cell phones.

Those are people who have been convicted of a crime. That's a punishment, rather than the preventative/safety measure that was mentioned. The level of technology between those is rather large. A breathalyser ignition key is essentially an extra lock on the vehicle - once it's unlocked, then the vehicle operates normally. To somehow selectively block the use of a cell phone (only for the driver, since there's no reason to block passengers' phones, nor would anyone buy a car which disables everyone's phone) while a vehicle is in motion is an entirely different type of technology.

Why yes it is different technology, although that is not at all pertinent to this discussion .

I'm just chuckling over the activity at the house across the street. That house foreclosed last year. The family must've just packed up the kids, got in a car and left (they went to California.) I didn't realize they left everything behind. There's huge dump trucks (3 loads so far) of the bank (or whoever they hired to do take care of this) throwing out all the furniture. I lost count of mattresses. At least 11. (They only had 2 kids!)

Well, it is a relief that they took the kids....

My only day off from work (Sundays) are also very short-lived. :(

Enjoying my spring break :)

My house is extremely cold.
I don't think it was this cold in the winter... I'm actually wearing a coat right now.

Yes it does. It was cold and wet here as well. When I got home from work, I took a long hot bath - the first one in ages. Well over a year anyway.

Hoping the rain will help reduce the pollen count. I had horrible allergies yesterday and still have some symptoms today.

I got a cryptic email from a stockbroker friend. He is worried about tomorrow. Weird.
Anyway, silver is at over $46 an ounce. :)

Daughter is having massive allergy attacks today. Son went outside and walked in the yard and had an asthma attack just walking. He came inside and stayed where a fan was blowing on him and has been fine since.

I am so worried myself about Millie (the cat with diabetes.) She is not coping well. We have spent so much time -- on the phone and in person -- with the vets. Not including phone calls, we've made 6 vet visits between her regular vet and emergency vet in the last 3 weeks alone. She is not eating, not drinking, not using the litterbox. I don't know what to do next for her !!!! :(
