"It's just the way I'm feelin'
lost without the meanin'
the love has disappeared without a trace
It's just the way I'm feelin'
You're gone and now I'm leavin'
I'm holding back the tears
that hide my face
It's just the way I'm feelin'"

Saw on some of my Arizonan friends' FB status that it snowed somewhere in AZ last night...weird!

Wirelessly posted (sent from a smartphone. )

Should be fine for using cellphones while driving in all states. Unfair!!

You want one for Ohio too?

But we are getting one in Iowa. For now just warnings.

Talking on cell phone is banned in Iowa but working on texting while driving, tho.

I don't think cell phones should be banned period but they should be put away completely while driving. I shudder when I go to Russellville and I am driving beside someone that's texting while driving.

I'm sure in the next few years new technology will emerge where the phone reception is cut off when a vehicle is in motion where all phone calls go straight to voicemail without ringing and it will be called a safety feature. Once the vehicle is placed in park, service returns to normal. Of course cell phone advocates will throw a tizzy over this. =/

Yeah right.

Nobody'll buy a car with that "feature". Simple reason - how do you plan on enforcing that only for the driver's phone, rather than passengers? Not to mention any host of other things, like using a smartphone as your stereo in your car, as your car's GPS, etc.

There don't need to be any more laws explicitly outlawing "talking/texting while driving" - we already have all-encompassing laws that cover that - reckless driving. If you're swerving or whatnot due to playing with your phone, then you're already guilty of reckless driving. If you can talk/text while driving without swerving or hitting other people then... congratulations, you're not being unsafe, so there's no need to punish you!

Got more website work to do this afternoon. It's too nice out, though!

It should be enforced for ANYONE caught using their cell phone while driving. If you're not fully paying attention to the road you're being unsafe.

you must be a Democrat :giggle:

Just so glad it's Friday! The work week went by fast, but I"m looking forward to the weekend.

No thanks.

Also, I'm pretty sure you'd see self-driving cars before you see a phone-disabling car.

Yup, what tipped you off? :giggle:
:giggle:

well I disagree with general Democrat's approach and style when it comes to laws n' order. it's very restrictive and it lacks common sense.

That's already implemented in some places for people convicted of OUI. They have to blow a breathalyzer to make the car start.

They don't get a choice. That is what they must do to drive.

I'm not about all lockdown restrictions but I don't want to throw out common sense either. I didn't say there should be phone-disabling vehicles - I said there *could* be phone-disabling vehicles in the future as a 'safety-feature'. Watch someone will file a lawsuit and the judge will hold the car manufacturer responsible in some way because the driver was able to make a call from the vehicle while it was in motion. It's American, ridiculous, and possible with the way things are currently going.

But if they are going to pass a law banning the use of a cell phone while driving it needs to be equally enforced for ALL drivers.

They reached a deal on the budget! (Albeit only temporary, but at least no shutdown tonight.)
