 Did you know he used to live in Des Moines, and could be seen wandering about the streets occasionally.

Oh, by the way, my husband bought me an LLBean backpack for hiking about the city this spring. It was on sale half price. I think $29. It is a lovely violet color. He added an LED flasher to attach to the strap so hopefully traffic will notice me.

I wouldn't normally brag about my possessions, but I thought they were thoughtful gifts as this is our anniversary month. ;)

That's sweet. Your hubby is always so good to you. :)

That is thoughtful, especially with the flasher. Violet--I bet that's pretty. :)

Happy anniversary!

Thanks. I think it is beautiful. The sentiment counts for a lot. :)

Not tip toeing????

I just remember my father pointing him out. I think he was walking normally. That was the late 80's through 1992. We must have been visiting my parents.

I think he was long past his tip toeing days.

What a sweet, thoughtful husband you have there, Botti.
Hope you've had a great anniversary. :)

Well if I see more chickens with two heads and four feet and three wings, should I be worried?

Seriously though, while it is bad in Japan, I don't think there is enough radiation to be released to cause people to become ill in general. However I am sure there are those who are more susceptible to it so they dispensed potassium iodine as a precaution. I believe Japan has more nuclear reactors than the United States so this should have been seen a long time ago, but at the same time no expected the back-up generators to fail either.

I am sure Chernobyl rings in people's minds when they think of a nuclear disaster. But far as I know the actual nuclear reactor at Fukushima has not exploded only the hydrogen buildup inside the containment building. So far they have released some radioactive water, not sure how this will play out in our oceans. =/

I am sure if it truly does get as bad as Chernobyl, the world as a whole will do what they can to save human life and to take precautions against any radioactive 'bubble' that might be headed their way. I feel confident that international authorities are doing their best to get it under control and will work continuously to keep it under control once they do. Is it possible that Fukushima could be shut down permanently?

It was just on my local news at ten that it is on fire now. I think it is getting quite bad.

Someone married her?

:hmm: Just noticed this. Is it because you think Deaf/blind don't marry? I feel like back in the mainstream.

But luckily yes, and it has lasted 33 years so far.
