Wow, CI's are expensive

Nope, you are not. You are, in fact, in the majority. In fact, there are more ASLers who maintain employment than oral.
So that means that the stereotype of oral only leading to employment is WRONG? Oh the IRONY! Can you give me solid cites on that? Maybe that might help me get another UG degree.

That with some of the current developments or research going on in the science and technology field. Hopefully those that want to hear better could be optimistic about its future...
Yeah, but they've been predicting a cure for years and years.....still no soap. I have a feeling dhh people are going to be around for millions more years.
But it is sad that he had to wish for 53 years to be "normal".
On the other hand guys jack is postlingal. He knew what it was like to be able to hear as a hearing person.

constanstly wishing for something he could never have? Nice way to live but not for me. I would rather wish for other things that I can achieve. My deafness is not a big issue.
Who is to say that one is wishing for something he could never have? For starters, my hearing did get better than it was for a while there after I got the CI. Although that is not to say that it's for all deaf people.

As mentioned many times I am NOT Dr Philip C McGraw PhD, I have NEVER met him in person. I don't have high speed internet and there is no sound on this computer.

You dont need sound to watch and understand PFH's video.

Nice video, even though it was fuzzy in some parts. What find of equipment did you use, PFH?

a 5 year old webcam that came installed in the laptop, 240p. It was dark in the house so it acted up. I didnt have my external cam readily available.

PFH: captions not available and took close to 20 minutes to get 4 seconds on this screen. Just shifted back to alldeaf.com on another screen awaiting what would show up.

Wow. You really are handicapped.

In his defense, I couldn't view it either (w/CC) on my work PC. My PC @ work is very bad at showing videos (which is should be...I'm supposed to be working, aren't I? :giggle:)
I'll try again at home.

I was referring more to the needing captions, especially since he continually says he doesn't need ASL and would have no use for it. Would have been useful in this case.:giggle:

Not at dial-up speed that he has....then again, speed is of no consequence here...:giggle:
